Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. -James 1:19

When you get mad, what do you do? Do you kick or yell or cry or pout? Those things might make you feel a little better for a minute, but they don't accomplish much. If you really want to take care of a problem, it's a lot better to talk about it. If someone makes you mad, stay calm and tell that person how you feel. Then listen to what she has to say. When you follow the Bible's advice, you'll solve your problems fast.

When I get angry, I won't kick or pout -I'll just do my best to figure things out.

Did you let the sun shine on your cheeks today? Did you catch a snowflake on your tongue? Did you get a hug from your dad? Every wonderful thing you did today is a gift from God. The snowflakes that melt on your tongue, the sunshine that warms your face, and the great feeling you get when someone hugs you all come from God. Who could ask for better gifts?

All of the wonderful things I love are presents from God, his gifts from above.

Even at your age, you have choices to make every day. Like whether or not you eat the orange in your lunch, or whether or not to turn in the lost mitten you found on the playground. As you get older, the choices will become harder, like what kind of kids you should play with. And when you become an adult, you'll be making choices later. After all, God has promised to give you wisdom your whole life through.

When I have a tough choice that I have to make, God helps me to know which path I should take!

December 1 | Jesus Never Changes

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever" Hebrews 13:8

The Bible tells us how Jesus, who lived on the earth, loved little children. He liked to spend time with people, even if they had problems and even if they had made big mistakes. Jesus lives in heaven now, but he hasn't changed a bit. He is still loves kids like you, he still wants to hear all about you, and he still wants to forgive you when you do something you shouldn't. Jesus' love for you will never change -- not today, not tomorrow, not ever!

Jesus will stay the same, all of my days. He never will change his kind, loving ways.

God Alone Is to Be Worshiped, November 20

You shall destroy their altars, and break down their sacred pillars, and cut down their wooden images, and burn their carved images with fire. For you are a holy people to the Lord your God. Deuteronomy 7:5, 6, NKJV.

God would have His people understand that He alone should be the object of their worship; and when they should overcome the idolatrous nations around them, they should not preserve any of the images of their worship, but utterly destroy them. Many of these heathen deities were very costly, and of beautiful workmanship, which might tempt those who had witnessed idol worship, so common in Egypt, to even regard these senseless objects with some degree of reverence. The Lord would have His people know that it was because of the idolatry of these nations, which had led them to every degree of wickedness, that He would use the Israelites as His instruments to punish them, and destroy their gods....

“I will set thy bounds from the Red Sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and thou shalt drive them out before thee.” ...

These promises of God to His people were on condition of their obedience. If they would serve the Lord fully, He would do great things for them. After Moses had received the judgments from the Lord, and had written them for the people, also the promises, on condition of obedience, the Lord said unto him, “Come up unto the Lord, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship ye afar off. And Moses alone shall come near the Lord: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him. And Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the Lord hath said will we do.”

Moses had written—not the ten commandments, but the judgments which God would have them observe, and the promises, on conditions that they would obey Him. He read this to the people, and they pledged themselves to obey all the words which the Lord had said. Moses then wrote their solemn pledge in a book, and offered sacrifice unto God for the people. “And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people, and they said, All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient.”—Spiritual Gifts 3:269, 270.

I can do all things through Christ because he gives me strength. Philippians 4:13

God helped Moses and Abraham and David and Jonah and many others in the Bible. The Old Testament is full of their exciting stories. No matter what kind of trouble they were in, God was on their side. God gave them the strength they needed to fight wars and save entire nations. And he'll give you all the strength you need too. You can trust God. He's been helping his people forever.

Moses trusted God, and I can, too. Just like Moses, I know God is true!

Learn and Go

Keep putting into practice all you learned. - Philippians 4:9

All the things you learn from the Bible are wonderful, but they really only matter if you practice doing what you've learned. So when God says to love your neighbor, go out and help a friend. When God says to obey your parents, do your chores with a smile. When God says to be kind to others, share your toys with your brothers and sisters. All the valuable things God teaches us are meant to be put into action. So get going!

The Bible is full of great ways to show God's love to all of the people we know.

𝙁𝙞𝙭 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩. -𝙋𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙨 4:8

If you mix pickle juice, raisins, dirt, olives, old bread, and sour cream together, what will you get? A big mess! And certainly not a chocolate chip cookies! The things you mix together make a big difference. The same is true for what you put in your mind to be filled with goodness, you have to put good things into them. Instead of thinking about scary things, think about all the wonderful things God has given you and all the love he has for you. That's a recipe for a happy heart!

God loves it when you tell him what you need. But he also loves it when you thank him for all the things he does for you. When you talk to God, go ahead and tell him about your day. Tell him what bugged you and what went well great. Tell him what you'd like him to help you with. But also spend some time telling him how much you love all the good things he gives you, like sunshine and parents and friends. Don't forget to thank him!

When you think about obeying God, you might feel like there are just too many rules. Maybe you think you can't possibly be as good as God wants you to be. But God doesn't expect you to be good and obedient all by yourself. First God puts deep in your heart a strong desire to do what pleases him. And then he gives you all the power you need to love and obey him. With this great help, you can't lose!

It takes time to make something really special. When you paint a beautiful picture or build a fort, you have to put a lot of time into it to get it just right. Well, to God you're a beautiful creation. He's put a lot of time into making you just right too, and he's not done yet. Each day God helps you to learn something new. And he helps you grow closer to him.

August 4 | Full of Questions

Jesus was sitting with the religious teachers. All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and wise answers. — Luke 2:46-47

When Jesus was a little boy, he probably liked a lot of the same things you do, like laughing and chasing frogs and playing games with friends. He also liked to learn, especially about the things his heavenly Father was doing in the world. So he talked to God and to people like teachers and his parents. When you want to know more about God, do what Jesus did. Talk to the grown-ups in your life. Ask lots of questions.

God, there’s so much I can know about you. If I ask lots of questions, I’ll know what is true.

The Shepherd’s Surprise

Shepherds were in the fields… [An] Angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, because I am bringing you some good news. It will be a joy to all the people. Today your Savior was born.” Luke 2:8, 10-11

Can you imagine what those shepherds must have felt like? They were late at night watching their sheep. They were probably tired and cold and maybe a little bored. Then, out of nowhere, an angel showed up! He gave them the most incredible news in history. God’s son, Jesus, has been born! Sometimes we forget just how amazing it is that God cared enough about us to send his only Son to live on earth with us. But he did. And that’s really something to celebrate!

Since God can't be here on earth with us, he gave us a special gift called the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us make good decisions and helps us follow God. Most of all, the Holy Spirit lives in our hearts and helps us remember how much God loves us. What a wonderful gift.

If you want to make new friends, you have to do a little work. You have to talk to people, ask them about themselves, and spend time with them. Getting to know God takes a little work too. To really grow close to God, we need to talk to him often, find out more about him by reading the Bible and make him part of each day. When we do, he'll be our friend forever!

Every day is a brand-new beginning! The sun wakes up and you wake up too. You're happy and raring to go. Just think of all the fun things you might do! You might fly a kite in the park, take your dog for a walk, or go for a swim. Each new day is one to enjoy.

Such a good morning today. I woke up 7am because the hubby was making a grand entrance in the bedroom because he feels fresh from the shower and is getting ready for work. I opened my big eyes with a suprised look. He told me, are you okay? And I was like, "yeah but you are so noisy!". I looked at my kids (they were snoring again) and checked the time. He told me to join him for breakfast because he cooked. Yes! He is cooking because it would take me forever to do so.

He left the house, I finish my meal. I checked on my kids, they are alive and stretching. I scanned my surroundings pretending that my eyes got lasers and I got a house to clean and laundry to hang. I got work to do and videos to edit.

I grabbed my warm drink and was thinking. Oh my I could complain how tiring this routine is. But no, I finally understood what GOOD MORNING means.

It means, Praise God for another day to be able to work and have something on our table. Praise God for the floors to be swept and mopped because we have a home to chill. Praise God for the laundry to hang because we have something to wear. Praise God for the noisy and sometimes annoying kids because we could have someone to share our burden to serve others.

To simplify this.

I just Praise God for He pays our bills.

I am sharing this to encourage you to taste and see God's goodness. Life is never easy if we look at the burdens and carry them. Look at the things that we can Praise God for.

May you be happy and cheerful. For your Father in Heaven loves you and takes care of you always.

Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Proverbs 4:5, NKJV.

There is no time now to fill the mind with false ideas of what is called higher education. There can be no higher education than that which comes from the Author of truth. The Word of God is to be our study. We are to educate our children in the truths found therein. It is an inexhaustible treasure; but men and women fail to find this treasure because they do not search until it is within their possession. In this Word is found wisdom, unquestionable and inexhaustible wisdom, that did not originate in the finite mind, but in the infinite mind.

When men and women are willing to be instructed as little children, when they submit wholly to God, they will find in the Scriptures the science of education. When teachers and students enter Christ's school, to learn from Him, they will talk intelligently of higher education, because they will understand that it is that knowledge which enables people to understand the essence of science.

Those who would seek successfully for the hidden treasure must rise to higher pursuits than the things of this world. Their affections and all their capabilities must be consecrated to this search. Men and women of piety and talent catch views of eternal realities, but often they fail to understand, because the things that are seen eclipse the glory of the unseen. By many human wisdom is thought to be higher than the wisdom of the divine Teacher, and God's lesson book is looked upon as old-fashioned, so much so indeed as to be thought tame and stale. But by those who have been vivified by the Holy Spirit it is not so regarded. They see the priceless treasure, and would sell all to buy the field that contains it....

Those who make the Word of God their study, who dig for the treasures of truth, will appreciate the weighty principles taught, and will digest them. As a result, they will be imbued with the Spirit of Christ; and by beholding, they will become changed into His likeness. They will teach like disciples who have been sitting at the feet of Jesus, who have accustomed themselves to learn of Him, that they might know Him whom to know aright is life eternal.—The Review and Herald, July 3, 1900.

The anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. 1 John 2:27, NKJV.

Let us believe the Word. He who thus eats the bread of heaven is nourished every day, and will know what these words mean, “Need not that any man teach you” (1 John 2:27). We have lessons pure from the lips of Him who owns us, who has bought us with the price of His own blood.

The precious Word of God is a solid foundation upon which to build. When people come to you with their supposed suppositions, tell them that the Great Teacher has left you His Word, which is of incalculable value, that He has sent a Comforter in His own name, even the Holy Ghost. “He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” “I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”

Here is presented before us a rich banquet, of which all who believe in Christ as a personal Savior may eat. He is the tree of life to all who continue to feed on Him.

I am instructed to ask those who profess to receive Christ as their personal Savior, Why do you pass by the words of the Great Teacher, and send your letters to human beings for words of comfort? Why do you rely upon human help when you have the large, full, grand promises, “He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.... This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever”? They may die, yet the life of Christ in them is eternal, and they will be raised up at the last day. “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” ...

I am instructed by the Word of God that His promises are for me and for every child of God. The banquet is spread before us; we are invited to eat the Word of God, which will strengthen spiritual muscle and sinew.—Manuscript Releases 21:132, 133.

Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Hebrews 12:1, 2, NKJV.

No man, woman, or youth can attain to Christian perfection and neglect the study of the Word of God. By carefully and closely searching His Word we shall obey the injunction of Christ, “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.” This search enables the student to closely observe the divine Model, for they testify of Christ. The Pattern must be inspected often and closely in order to imitate it.

As human beings become acquainted with the history of the Redeemer, they discover in themselves defects of character; their unlikeness to Christ is so great that they see they cannot be followers without a very great change in their lives. Still they study, with a desire to be like their great Exemplar; they catch the looks, the spirit, of their beloved Master; by beholding they become changed. “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.” It is not in looking away from Him, and in losing sight of Him, that we imitate the life of Jesus; but in dwelling upon and talking of Him, and seeking to refine the taste and elevate the character; seeking to approach through earnest, persevering effort, through faith and love, the perfect Pattern.

The attention being fixed upon Christ, His image, pure and spotless, becomes enshrined in the heart as “the chief among ten thousand and the one altogether lovely.” Even unconsciously we imitate that with which we are familiar. By having a knowledge of Christ, His words, His habits, His lessons of instruction, and by borrowing the virtues of the character which we have so closely studied, we become imbued with the spirit of the Master which we have so much admired....

The Word of God, spoken to the heart, has an animating power, and those who will frame any excuse for neglecting to become acquainted with it will neglect the claims of God in many respects. The character will be deformed, the words and acts a reproach to the truth.—The Review and Herald, November 28, 1878.
