The Government Public Relations Department (PRD) organized the "Pattaya: New Gateway to Creative Economy and Film Industry Capital" event at Pattaya in Chonburi Province, highlighting Pattaya’s strategic role in the global film industry. The event, held on August 22-23, 2024, aims to position Pattaya as a leading city in Thailand’s creative economy and a major hub for international film production.

Ms. Arunya Keatkeaw, Deputy Director-General of the PRD, opened the event with remarks emphasizing the importance of promoting Pattaya as a "City of Film" within Thailand's broader creative economy framework. She stressed the potential of Pattaya to attract filmmakers and enhance the city’s cultural and economic profile.

The event featured a panel discussion with key industry figures who shared valuable insights on various aspects of the film industry. Discussions involve the global success of Thai films and government measures to promote foreign film production in Thailand. Experts also shared their perspectives on promoting Thai films internationally and emphasizing the strengths of Thai film crews in collaborating with foreign productions. This event marks a significant step in Thailand’s journey toward becoming a global leader in the film industry.

In addition, media delegates also participated in the Pattaya Film Festival, which runs from August 21-25, offering film screenings, workshops, and more. These initiatives are crucial steps in Pattaya's journey to becoming a global film industry hub and a leader in Thailand's creative sector.

At the closing ceremony, Mrs. Sudruetai Lertkasem, PRD’s Director-General, emphasized Pattaya’s potential to take center stage in the film and creative industries.
