For those who missed the recent road trip. Here's part 1 of 'Phuket to Koh Samui'...

This Motoring episode sees James and AD blast it to Koh Samui for James’ birthday. AD treated James to an all expenses paid trip to Koh Samui which took place in April 2023. A pleasant ride all the way to Lamai in Koh Samui with a return stop to Ao Nang on the return journey. We managed to get some great footage and have a good laugh whilst filming it.

This Lifestyle episode is a review of ‘UCHI’ Japanese Gastro Bar based in Choeng Talay, Phuket. James met with French general manager Remy to hear UCHI’s story and to indulge in some of the incredible cuisine served here. James also sampled one of the signature cocktails served here called a Papeda Paradise. A must try!!!

‘DJ Darin Fox’ plays Cafe Del Mar with No More Snow.

The Bowl got invited to film dance promoters ‘No More Snow’s’ leading lady Darin Fox at their inaugural gig at Cafe Del Mar in Kamala, Phuket.

James also got to spend time with Darin in an interview some days later. She was a lot of fun!!!

The Boxer Rebellion - New Tour Dates!
October, 2023.

Back in early 2000, I used to manage an indie rock back called ‘The Boxer Rebllion’ (TBR). I worked with them up until the release of their first album EXITS which saw them signed to Alan McGees (Oasis, The Hives, Creation Records) Poptones label and Universal Records.

Since we separated amicably in 2005, TBR have released 5 more albums. Their music has appeared in over 20 TV series in the USA, 4 major Hollywood movies, and several computer games.

I’m proud of their achievements and are pleased to announce that they are heading out on tour again to Europe to include Leeds, London, Paris, Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin, Brussels, and Amsterdam. Do check out their music and catch a gig if you can. My favourite track was ‘Diamonds’.

'Chalong Temple and the Buddha Bone Relic' - Chalong, Phuket, Thailand.

The Bowl took a walk around the incredible grounds of Chalong Temple. The highlight of this serene experience was the long ascension up the Grand Pagoda to the top spire where the relic fragment of the Lord Buddha's bone is kept in a Chedi cabinet.

Thailand - ‘Suzuki Hayabusa’ she’s back and black.

Just got my Gen II Suzuki Hayabusa back from my friend Aek at Phuket Pro Care bike service and body shop who resprayed her black and did an incredible job. I’ve now got the colour officially changed with the Phuket transport office and she’s legal to ride. Stay tuned for a 5-day road trip with the boys from Phuket to Hua Hin.

Superlounge is a new monthly pre-club experience for all serious dance music lovers brought to you by the creators of the Farangbowl Magazine.

Headline act DJ Vanessa (TH) has come a long way since she started playing live, and she has become a well respected artist on the circuit in Thailand.

She is currently the only female artist in the underground crew ‘REC N’ CUE’ which has seen her play across the country.

Vanessa has been playing at Cafe Del Mar for Kolour this February proving her ability to deliver quality performances. Her Tech House, and House style will make this an evening not to be missed.

Thailand - Culture - ‘Quan Yu’ Chinese General/God shrine.

Walked around the huge Quan Yu statue and shrine today as I’m stranded in Koh Samui due to bad weather and boats not being allowed to leave. An awesome shrine and well worth a visit. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
