Inspired by the plane parts from a decommissioned plane being constructed across from Ruam Chok Mall, we figured we would walk you through the construction site. 😁🚅

We have a plane that we did a video on some time last year. That was the Air Diamond Cafe and Hotel (Hotel was separate to the plane) Check that video out if you haven't.👌

This footage was taken a month ago, and the plane is almost fully constructed.
We will take you on board to have a coffee, if that is the plan for this site.

There is construction next to it, which looks like it could be another shopping mall. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️. Time will tell.

Months of planning finally brought my good friend Karen to visit us earlier this month.
I finally got around to editing the video where we took her to the Chiang Mai Karen Elephant 🐘 Sanctuary (No, not because of the name).😁

We chose this sanctuary because it is one of the rescue camps for previously ill-treated elephants.🐘

This camp has 6 elephants 🐘 and allows only two groups per day to visit. The cost to enter is 1,500 THB per person.

This cost covers food and any medication requirements for the day.

7 days in tourist Patong to see what changes have occurred since we last visited back in 2017.

The place is still ultra busy. The vibe doesn't seem as friendly anymore.

We spent one day in Kata to visit a friend at his place of business. The vibe in Kata was so much more relaxed.

Day 4
Our friend Tom took us to an ethical Elephant Park to have the 'close to Elephant 🐘 experience for Karen.

It was by coincidence that the place was called Karen Elephant Camp. 😆

Next stop was some lunch, then the Karen Long neck village.

We discovered some fantastic Mexican food for dinner at Salsa Kitchen, Ruam Chok.

Day 3
Naturally, while in Northern Thailand, Khao Soi must be tried. Our first choice for traditional Khao Soi was Khao Soi Khun Yai, but they were closed. 🍜

Tip: They never open on a Sunday. 👍

We chose (very touristy, but open) Khao So-i. These guys are very well organised.

Then for a massage wih Lila Thai Massage near Thapae gate.
We chose a neck, back and shoulders. 💯

And off to Wat Pra Singh because all tourists should visit this amazing Buddhist temple. 🧘‍♀️

Days 2 of Karen's visit. 😀

Next stop was Wat Si Don Chai Pa Tung Ngam to show the Buddhists depiction of hell.There are more pictures, but FB may ban us due to the content.💀

Then to the Elephant Poo Poo Paper Park to illustrate the process of turning ellie Poo into paper products. 🐘

And finally to the Night Bizarre for some light dinner. Karen got to taste mango 🥭 with sticky rice.
We got a tuk tuk 🛺 to take us around the block then to show Karen the full length of Loi Kroh road, before settling at
My Place Bar for a few drinks and helped celebrate the managers birthday.

Day one of our friend Karen's visit.

Doi suthep - We gave alms to the monks and were blessed. We also gave food to the homeless at the temple. (No photo as we want them to maintain dignity.) 🙏

Royal Coffee Project- Karen learned to manually grind the beans and made us all coffee.☕️

Watchirithan waterfall - that's where we got soaked from the overspray of the waterfall. We were prepared, having been there before.😆

Wat Pha Lat - This is the monastery that our friend Tom, also driving us today, spent many years at.

The 3 of us were given a brief meditation lesson. 🧘‍♀️ 🧘‍♂️ and taught how to centre ourselves. We were then blessed individually. They were all different blessings.

Thai Silk Village to watch the process from worm to silk clothing. 🐛. (I was more concerned about returning the straying worms to their nest).

Bo Sang Umbrella Village was next.
These ladies that wittle and construct the 🌂 have been doing the job for 50+ years. That's loving your job. 🥰

Lastly, dinner at Khaomao Khaofang. This is maybe the 5th time we've been and the food and service is consistently excellent. The view is not to be missed.

We love that you get given a cup of iced butterfly pea tea with your order.

We went to The Forest Friends in San Sai.
The grounds are very tranquil and serene.

The coffee and cake were really flavourful. ☕️

We also saw the most fascinating abandoned old house. We couldn't help our curiosity so we went in. 🏚

This place makes their food with love.

Naturally, I had the benedict.
My base was sourdough toast, topped with a delicious slice of leg ham and two perfectly poached eggs. I had two sun-dried tomato halves that were so flavourful.
There was even very finely diced lightly pickled cucumber and a few assorted leaves.

Dave's bolognaise was so tasty.

Do yourself a favour and go to Omlette for breakfast. They are open 7:30 -5 but closed on a Tuesday.

The music was loud, the drinks were cold and the food was good. 😁

Off to check out the Phi Ta Khon Mask Festival this weekend.

We set off at 6:30 am 😭 and travelled for 5 and a half hours.

We are in Khao Kho as we wanted to check out Wat Prat That Pha Sorn Kaew.

All I can say is wow!
