Ice cream🍦- an essential when traveling to a new place is to find the best.

Have no fear, I Tim Baan Yaii has some amazing homemade ice cream for you to cool off in this crazy heat! And of course it’s Instagramable😉

There are a handful of other ice cream shops in Chiang Mai but I Tim Baan Yaii is definitely our go to stop!

What are Soi Dogs? 🐕

Soi means street in Thai and with an estimated 1,000,000 street dogs in Thailand your bound to see loads of them while you’re here.

When we moved to Thailand there wasn’t much of a culture shock other than the insane abundance of street dogs. I knew within the first week we arrived that we’d be helping these dogs in some way.

We found an amazing organization that supports local Soi dogs here in Chiang Mai. They had just gotten in 11 puppies, one of which was Nark! But that’s for another post hehehe 😉

While there is SO much amazing food, cafes and temples to see in Thailand, we highly recommend finding a rescue to volunteer or donate to. A little goes a long way!!

These are some of the Soi dogs that we volunteer with, they were all abandoned at some point in there life and live at the crematorium we support.

How do we make money?🤔

We get this question all the time!!! Nicole and I are both Social Media Managers.

During the start of the pandemic Nicole was still in college and I was a bartender. Our plan was to move to Philadelphia and hope for the best in terms of finding jobs 😂

Luckily Nic came across a job posting on the Girls Love Travel Facebook group for a remote Social Media Sales position. She stayed for one year but this truly opened up the doors to understanding the online business space!

From there Nic started freelancing solo while I was a nanny saving up to travel but was working long hours and not feeling valued.

I quickly realized that I am fully capable of working in the online space, making the same amount with one client then I was with a 40hr job.

Don’t get me wrong - we have an amazing life and not a day goes by that we aren’t grateful for being in Thailand BUT we absolutely worked our asses off to get here!

Chiang Mai hidden gem!!

You’d never know that Angkaew Reservoir (Located on CMU Campus) is just 7 min drive from the Old City and Nimman!!

Right across the lake is one of our favorite places for breakfast Living A Dream. They have amazing avo toast, BLT, coffee and smoothies!!

The lake is also an amazing place for sunset, lots of people come out to walk the track around the lake and bring their dogs to play at the dog park!

Wuttttt 40,000 temples in Thailand 🤯

Bored in Thailand? Unheard of. Literally walk down the street and we guarantee there’ll be a beautiful temple to explore!

Just make sure you have the proper clothing on while you’re temple hopping around Thailand as it’s required to be modest! You wouldn’t believe how many people think it’s appropriate to wear crop tops/ tank tops and b***y shorts🍑🙄

We usually carry around a sarong(wrap) in the bike just incase we drive by a temple we want to see!

How do we balance work and life💻🌏🐕

Work can get quite overwhelming if you let it. Waking up early and staying up late to work US hours and have calls with clients etc…

Because of that we’ve learned how important self care is!! Thai Massages are our go to (about $5 usd), splurging on a nice dinner, getting a mani pedi 💅🏼(Nicole), taking time to unplug and finding cute cafes like this one to work and relax at!!

We have set times when we work and when we focus on each other and Nark of course hahaha 🧡

OOFF good thing we’re obsessed with each other😂

Traveling with your significant other can really make or break a relationship. Luckily we love spending almost every second together🧡

In all honestly though it’s superrr important that you have time and space away from each other! Nicole gets up earlier then me most days (ily) and sometimes she’ll go to a cafe for breakfast on her own to work!

Have you ever traveled with a partner or even close friend?

The best part of having a home base as a digital nomad is the ability to truly explore the city the we’re based in at our own pace!

Chiang Mai has an endless amount of amazing things to see and do, and instead of packing everything into a week or less we have months and months to explore! At the same time we can have chill days and do fun things like grocery shop or walk around malls hahaha

Choosing our digital nomad base…

There are SOO many amazing places to be a digital nomad - Bali, Mexico, Vietnam…the list goes on!!

So why did we choose Chiang Mai, Thailand?

🌸 Affordability- Housing, transportation and food! With a US income you can live well above your means while supporting the local economy without questioning your budget

🌸 Environment- We’re constantly in awe of the beauty Chiang Mai offers, from the landscape to the culture, this is one of the most amazing places we’ve ever been!

🌸 Accessibility- Every type of cuisine you could imagine Also easy access to other countries in Southeast Asia and all around Thailand!

WE’RE BACK!! After a 2 month hiatus from posting we are fully back to bringing you the best of Chiang Mai and digital nomad lifestyle!💻🇹🇭

Alsooo it’s been a while since we introduced ourselves! We are Nic, Noah and Nark (our adopted street puppy) We came to Thailand in October 2021 to travel with no intention to move here😂 We quickly fell in love with Thailand and after adopting Nark things sorta fell into place!

So much has happened in the last 2 months and we’re so excited to continue to share our journey! ♡

Living our dream island life😌

Days on Koh Samui are calm and beautiful. Waking up every morning, we are so grateful that our jobs allow us to work from anywhere. I keep thinking about how one day we get to tell our kids about how we lived on an island with our puppy in Thailand, dreams really do come true.
