အခု ပြထားတဲ့ ပုံလေးတစ်ချို့ဟာ နောက်တစ်ကြိမ် ထပ် ရိုက်ဖို့ မလွယ်ကူနိုင်တော့တဲ့ ပုံလေးတွေပါ.....အဲ့နေရာ တွေကိုလည်း နောက်တစ်ခေါက်ကျွန်တော်‌ရောက် ဖြစ်ချင်မှလဲ‌ရောက် ဖြစ်မယ် တကယ်လို့ရောက်ဖြစ်ခဲ့ရင်တောင်....အဲ့လို ဖြစ်စဉ်မျိုး တွေ့ရဖို့လည်း မလွယ်ကူတော့ဘူး...အဲ့လို ရှုခင်းမျိုး အဲလူတွေရဲ့ အဲအချိန် ဖြစ်ပေါ်‌နေတဲ့ mood မျိုးရဖို့လည်း မလွယ်ကူတော့ဘူး......အခြေအနေ တွေ အချိန်အခါတွေပေါ်မူတည်ပြီး အစစအရာရာ အကုန် ပြောင်းလဲသွားပြီ......အဲ့ဒီပြောင်းလဲမှုတွေကြားမှာ ပျောက်ပျက်သွားမယ့် အမှတ်တရတွေကို ဒီပုံလေးတွေ ထဲမှာပဲ ထာဝရ သိမ်းထားရတော့မှာ….ဒါကြောင့် အဲ့လို ပုံလေးတွေ ရလာတိုင်း ကျွန်တော် အရမ်းတန်ဖိုးထားရပါ တယ် ။

ကမ္ဘာကျော် ရုပ်ရှင်မင်းသားကြီး "Jet Li"က မင်း အထီးကျန်နေတာ ပြဿနာမဟုတ်ဘူး အထီးကျန်တာ ကို အကြောင်းပြပြီး ဘာမှမလုပ်ချင်ရင်တော့ မင်း အကျည်းတန်သွားလိမ့်မယ်တဲ့.. ဆိုလိုရင်း ကြိုးစားလို့ ကျရှုံးတယ်ဆိုတာမရှိပါဘူး ကျွန်တော်တို့တွေမှာ တစ်ယောက်ထဲဖြစ်နေရင်တောင် ဇွဲမလျော့ပဲရှေ့ဆက်ရှောက်ဖို့ပဲဖြစ်ပါတယ်

Don't know how to talk about my feeling.

Sharing my feelings, particularly with someone close, has always been challenging for me. Whether it's good news or bad, or even when I have a clear idea in mind, expressing myself remains difficult.

When the moment arrives to open up, however, I find myself struggling. Words get caught in my throat, and I end up swallowing my emotions once again, burying them deep within my stomach.

Along with colonialism, photos have been made in Myanmar for two hundred years. Initially, photography was used only by British colonial officers, traders, Burmese elites, and royalty. By the late 19th and early 20th centuries, photography had become more widespread in Myanmar, with studios and photographers established in major cities such as Yangon (formerly Rangoon) and Mandalay, and all over Myanmar. Old photographs offer a visual glimpse into the past, providing concrete evidence of historical events, societal norms, and cultural practices.

Archiving and properly saving photos allows future researchers, historians, and scholars to study and interpret the past and also acts as a source of inspiration for artists, designers, and cultural practitioners to create new artworks, performances, and cultural expressions. Myanmar Photo Archive can collect more than 20,000 photos, but most are images related to life in Yangon and Mandalay. There is an urgent need to preserve and save the historical and family pictures of local ethnic groups from other regions and states. Therefore, intending to enable locals to become self-sufficient in digitizing and saving visual history, we offer a course on preserving old photographs and converting them to a digital system. Therefore, we encourage you to apply if you are interested in photo preservation and history (especially if you live outside of Yangon and Mandalay).

When: 16th and 17th March 2024

No prior knowledge is required. Simply bring your phone or camera and any historical materials you possess or can access within your community.
