Her Excellency the Governor recently convened a crucial meeting with legal expert Mark Fenhalls KC to advance initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of case progression within the criminal justice system (CJS). Mr. Fenhalls, commissioned by the National Security Council and supported by the UK Ministry of Justice, shared insights from his extensive work with the Acting Director of Public Prosecutions and her Office. Together, they explored critical factors across the CJS that require attention to drive efficiency and support the development of long-term capability and capacity enhancements. The meeting also facilitated discussions with key stakeholders, including the Chief Justice and police leads, to foster collaboration and alignment towards achieving systemic improvements in the criminal justice landscape. The Department of Environment & Coastal Resources ( ) continues its commitment to fostering environmental stewardship among local youth by collaborating with Precious Treasures Middle School for a hands-on field trip to Grace Bay beach, Providenciales.
Through engaging activities, students gained insight into the intricate coastal dynamics, including the factors contributing to beach sand accretion and erosion. Recognizing Grace Bay as a globally renowned coastal area, students were enlightened about the imperative of coastal conservation efforts, encompassing the preservation of sand dunes and the significance of natural and man-made coastal defense structures in mitigating climate change impacts.

Originally known as Blue Hills Primary School, the institution traces its roots back to the 1940s when it was established at the Old Clinic on Bay Road, Blue Hills. In 1973, it relocated to its current site and was renamed Oseta Jolly Primary School.

“The Provo Water Company (PWC) is undertaking two significant projects aimed at improving water distribution across Providenciales. The initial project involves the installation of a new city water transmission main line, stretching from the TCWC Production Plant along June Plum, Gardenia Way, Kakeka Streets, and Garden Loop to the Leeward Highway. This upgrade, slated for completion by the end of May 2024, aims to augment water supply to the network, ensuring enhanced reliability and improved service for the community.
The second project, anticipated to conclude by the end of September 2024, focuses on enhancing fittings at major water junctions along the Leeward Highway. These enhancements to the central artery of the water supply network will bolster water flow to the Suzie Turn Reservoir, ultimately enhancing water availability and quality for customers situated west of Turtle Cove.” Link in bio 🔗

On Thursday, April 11th 2024, the Deputy Premier and Minister for Physical Planning and Infrastructure Development, Hon. Jamell Robinson, the Minister for Immigration and Border Security, Hon. Arlington Musgrove, and the Minister for Public Safety and Utilities, Hon. Kyle Knowles, received a Courtesy Call from Mr. Mauricio Nicholls, CEO of RUBiS Caribbean, and Mr. Raymond Samuels, Managing Director of RUBiS Bahamas & Turks and Caicos.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the inspection of two new 11,500 USG jet tank projects at RUBiS’ South Dock Terminals in Providenciales.

Suyapa Ramos, a tourist from New Jersey, found herself in the midst of a harrowing ordeal during her birthday celebration in the idyllic Turks and Caicos Islands. What was meant to be a joyous occasion turned into a nightmare when Ramos became the victim of a vicious assault that has left her with severe injuries, including potential visual impairment and hearing loss.
The alleged assailant, identified as Davidson Martin, purportedly lured Ramos under false pretenses, claiming to be a taxi driver when she was unable to locate one. Tragically, this trust proved misplaced, as Martin is accused of perpetrating a brutal attack on Ramos, leaving her traumatized and fighting for her life.
