Police in Sherikat, a suburb of Juba nabbed seven women and a man after being caught practicing magic pipe smoking.
Pipe smoking or “Kodos” is a popular charm performed by women and girls to dupe unsuspecting victims into falling in love and surrendering their wealth.

However, a man can be seen paraded alongside other women and we wonder whether the practice has become a two-way traffic that benefits both men and women.

The practice was criminalized and banned by the IGP, Gen. Marol Atem in his early weeks in the office.

President Kiir holds bilateral talks with his Ugandan counterpart

KAMPALA, 20th January 2024- President Salva Kiir Mayardit and his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Saturday, discussed bilateral ties, as well as regional and global issues.

The two leaders met on the sidelines of the ongoing 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Kampala, Uganda.

During the meeting, President Kiir congratulated Museveni on his election as the Chairman of NAM, saying South Sudan remains committed to strengthening cooperation with Uganda in various fields.

The two leaders further agreed to work together on issues of common interest for their people.

The reason why Junubin men don’t say “I love you” to their wives and/girlfriends in public is because Junubin men believe in showing their love in actions, not just words. Here is how a Junubin man says “I love you”:

1) A Junubi man tells his wife ‘I LOVE YOU’ when he pays high dowry for a woman he loves. In fact, Junubin are the highest dowry paying men in the whole world.

2) A Junubi man tells his wife ‘I LOVE YOU’ by giving her plenty of kids as opposed to the men in the foreign countries who tend to put their wives on birth control regimen, which eventually poisons a woman’s body and makes her not to feel like a real woman anymore. If a man truly loves your woman, then he should treat his woman the way God created her to be—A REAL WOMAN!

3) A Junubi man tells his wife ‘I LOVE YOU’ when he treats her right, when he protects her from danger, and when he pays all the bills himself without asking a woman to share in paying anything bills. In fact, a real Junubi man hates to take a woman’s money. Now, compare that to kawajat men who tell their girlfriends they love them, take them to a restaurant only to ask a woman to pay her share of the food she ate. What kind of love is that?

4) A Junubi man tells his wife ‘I LOVE YOU’ not only by taking good care of his own family, but also by respecting his in-laws and treating them just like his like family. Kawajat men do not care about their in-laws.

5) A Junubi man tells his wife ‘I LOVE YOU’ by refraining from abusing or harming his wife. History tells us that men who go around telling their wives “I love you, I love you” are more likely to turn around and abuse their wives. Just as the Bible says, not every man who says Lord, lord, goes to heaven, so not every man who says I LOVE YOU really deserves to be called a husband.

6) A Junubi man tells his wife ‘I LOVE YOU’ by bringing in a Junior Wife to help the Senior Wife with house chores. Ideally, Jr wives are meant to be helpers to the Sr. Wife.

IGAD CALLS FOR UNCONDITIONAL CEASEFIRE IN SUDAN

ENTEBBE, 19th January 2024--IGAD leaders have called for an end to the war in Sudan and the escalating diplomatic tensions between Ethiopia and Somalia.

In an extraordinary summit in Entebbe, Uganda, the leaders say the situation poses a threat to the progress made in sustaining peace and stability in the region, urging the two fighting generals to meet within two weeks to discuss ways of ending the raging conflict.

Heads of State from South Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, Somalia amd Djibouti participated at the extraordinary summit.

The summit expressed commitment to finding a peaceful solution to the crisis, as well as prevent further escalation of violence and instability in the region.

A DHC-8 Q400 aircraft, registered as ET-AVS and operated by Ethiopian Airlines with flight ET106, suffered a runway excursion and gear collapse after landing at Alula Aba Nega International Airport today on 18 January 2024 at around 2:10 PM local time on a scheduled flight from Addis Ababa to Mekelle.
Fortunately, all passengers and crew were safely evacuated, and there are no reported injuries at this time.
