The long-awaited South Sudan Music Awards come off finally on December 19, at Baric Community Center in Juba.
With massive performances from; Dynamq, Rocky J, Viper Koko, Minaa Hockleyy, Ziko, Suber among others, the awards ceremony was very fun and lit.

The public spoke through their votes and we only have the mandate of announcing winners based on who got the highest number of votes. Here is the full list of the winners below.

The nominees for this year’s South Sudan Music Awards (SSMAs) have been announced ahead of the ceremony in Juba, South Sudan, on 18 December.

SOUTH SUDAN MUSIC AWARDS FULL LIST OF NOMINEES 2021.

We made it to November 2021! Indeed, the South Sudan music made a great difference! The music kept us going even in our darkest days! And for the music, the show and the South Sudan Music Awards must go on!

We wish to announce to artistes, artiste managements, record labels, producers, instrumentalists, music composers, music industry stakeholders and the general public, that after two weeks of professional analysis, reviewing of all the entries for participation in the 2021 South Sudan Music Awards, we finally unveil the nominees today.

Entries were submitted for works published between November 2020 and October 2021 only. Thus, the scheme reviewed published works and applications from interested people.
Organized by Ashaab Global, the awards seek to highlight and celebrate deserving South Sudanese artists living within the country and those in the diaspora.

For its third edition, the award scheme will award 38 deserving entertainers with the help of the public in voting and three honorary categories.

Beckie Johnz, Yaba Angelosi, Lady Kola, Cocosan, WJ the King, Alijoma, Hardlife Avenue Stars and Silver X leads the nominations with over four nods, while Macco Bwoy, Domi, Nasty J, and Jay Dynamic follow closely. Rapper Lil Been made it to the list with multiple nominations for his single Salam, while reigning best female Artist of the Year Yanas battles for the best album of the year for her album “Yanas Revelaed” and Jealous by Domi ft Nasty J, Hibu Ana by Coco San ft Lady Kola, My Ex by Young Boy ft Linus the Genius, Jeran Jeran by Wando Star ft Best Boyz, Sugar by Bravo Kiss ft L*l Simon and Mabi Waga by Keen Dizzy ft Crazy Fox are in for the best collaboration of the year within the country.
