The former Governor Northern Bhar El Ghazal Kuel Aguer Kuel is free after a Special Court in Juba dismissed all charges against him. The presiding judge declared that there was a lack of evidence and that Mr Aguer was exercising his constitutional right of freedom of assembly and expression. Until today’s verdict, the former governor has been in detention for more than a year on charges of treason.
