WAU MAIN MARKET CLOSED DUE TO UBG STUDENTS STRIKE

The main market in Wau, known as Jou market, is closed down due to a strike by students of the University of Bhar El Ghazal.

The students are protesting the administration's failure to pay debts to the food contractor company Pawak Company. As a result, Pawak has stopped supplying food to the students for the past two weeks.

This morning, students were seen blocking roads near the university and the Suk market. The closure of the main market has caused disruption to businesses and residents in the area.

The students are demanding that the government immediately pay the debts owed to Pawak Company so that food supplies can be resumed.

The situation remains tense, and security forces are monitoring the protests closely. It is unclear how long the strike will continue or what further actions the students may take.
