Citizens raise concerns over petrol smell in Aquana bottled water

South Sudanese netizens have taken to social media to voice their dissatisfaction with the taste and smell of Aquana bottled water, a popular brand in Juba. Numerous complaints have surfaced, with some users likening the odor to that of petrol.

"I thought it was just me, but Aquana Water these days has a taste/smell of petrol," posted one concerned individual. Others chimed in, stating that both Aquana and Cannan water have consistently had a petrol-like scent.

Efforts to obtain a statement from Aquana management were met with disappointment, as they could not be reached for comment.

"I have been experiencing such a situation," expressed another online user. "I'm always complaining about it, but nobody gets it!!!!"

In the midst of the complaints, there is relief that the issue has been acknowledged. "At least somebody broke the silence," commented a social media user, highlighting the importance of addressing this matter.

While some speculated that pregnancy might have altered their sense of taste, others were quick to confirm the presence of a distinct petrol smell.

The concerns raised by South Sudanese citizens regarding the quality of Aquana bottled water have underscored the importance of ensuring consumer safety and satisfaction.

At least six people are now known to have died when a train crashed into a bus in the Nigerian city of Lagos. More than 70 others were injured, 29 of them critically. The collision happened on Thursday morning during rush hour and both vehicles were carrying commuters. The bus was taking civil servants to work while the train was shuttling commuters from the outskirts of Lagos into the city. Comment from Senegalese National Basketball Coach Boniface N'Dong about The Giants of The Nile:

"I can not say if South Sudan will dominate African basketball in the coming years, but they are well on their way. They have a good sports policy. You can see that the team is progressing with each campaign. They manage to keep their group and gradually graft young players. We will have to rely on them in the future. This does not mean that we have to kill the other teams who are in the process of rebuilding themselves. In short, the South Sudanese have a physical game and are skillful. The team is young and improving. And they manage to get the best players.
