42 people killed in Abyei and 35 others injured

The United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) said a United Nations peacekeeper from Ghana was killed in fighting between armed men from Abyei and Nuer on 27 January 2024.

The Mission confirms that the clashes took place in Nyinkuac, Majbong and Khadian and efforts are underway for UNISFA to independently verify the number of those killed, injured, and displaced in the violence.

However, Dr. Rou Manyiel Rou, the secretary general of Abyei administrative area said in a press release that 42 people have been killed and 35 others have been wounded.

A series of armed attacks that took place at 16:45hrs on 27 January 2024 in the Abyei Area resulted in civilian casualties and the evacuation of civilians to UNISFA bases to provide safety for those caught up in the violence, UNISFA said in a press statement.

The mission urges a swift and thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to these attacks inside Abyei town and its surrounding areas and to ensure that all perpetrators are held accountable.

An MSF Warehouse store keeper was killed yesterday in Abyei town.
Kuol Ngok aka Kuol Arop Chan who was working as Warehouse storekeeper for MSF Abyei and also a Titbaai battalion was killed yesterday in the fight between Titbaai Abyei armed youths and the Nuer Mercenaries of Makal Kuol who were hired by Dinka Ngok to fight Twic Mayardit.

The fight erupted yesterday in Abyei town leaving more than 42 dead bodies on the side of Ngok.
Following the fight that erupted yesterday, Nuer Mercenaries together with their families have evacuated Abyei and southern part of Kiir river. The cause of the fight remains unknown but we are following it closely.
Lesson: if you can't fight for yourself, no one will fight for you.

Abyei Armed forces Attack Anyiel Kuac Boma of Turalei Payam, Twic County – Warrap State

On 19/1/2024-Abyei Armed youth and its ally militias have this morning attacked Anyiel Kuac Boma of Turalei Payam, Twic County – Warrap.

Deng Lual,a resident of Anyiel Kuac boma confirmed to Ajak-Kuac TV on phone that Anyiel market,Panther and Gaak were all burned into ashes by Abyei Armed youth and its ally militias at exactly 2:00 am.

On 16/1/2024-H.E Salva Kiir Mayardit,the President of the Republic of South Sudan issued an order to the both communities of Twic Mayardit of Warrap State and Ngok Dinka of Abyei Special Administrative Area to immediately implement a permanent cease fire.

The officials on the ground are still tracing out and counting the number causalities.

Ngok of Kurdufan are celebrating the presidential order that spiritual Leader G*i Machiek should be taken out of Twic Mayardit land. But they are forgetting the same presidential decree that says all Nuer militias of Makal Kuol, Puljang and Stephen Buoy who are residing in Abyei should be expelled out of Abyei back to Unity State. Now who will help Ngok in fighting Twic again?

Dinka Ngok of Abyei that claims to be South Sudanese 🤭🤭

Dinka Ngok of Abyei together with Arabs have stayed in Abyei for a century without crossing River Kiir to Southern part for settlement or cattle grazing. And Khartoum government did not even think of crossing Kiir River with bridge or road to southern part because they knew it very well it belongs to Twic And South Sudan at large.

If we flash back to 80s and 90s,we will find that Dinka Ngok of Abyei together with Arabs established Shalak and Karadon inside Abyei to detain , torture and collect money from Twic and other South Sudanese before leaving Abyei to their home locations.
Finally, when people are released from Shalak they will be betrayed by Ngok Dinka to Arabs that they are Anya-nya such that they will be robbed, tortured or killed.

Those who would cross Kiir River without meeting these sufferings will be the luckiest ones because Arabs could not reach southern Kiir River as it was a thick forest and Twic territory. Dinka Ngok of Abyei have done numbers on Twic and South Sudan at large since they joined Kordufan 😓😞
Our pastoralists who could cross River Kiir for grazing in Abyei would pay some cows before they cross to Abyei and likewise to Ngok Pastoralists when crossing to southern part of Kiir. This was how our forefathers lived and serves as an evidence to who belongs where. Ngok Dinka of Abyei have never held any single portion of land in the southern Kiir.

Conclusion, Kiir River bridge was constructed when Bashir was connecting Sudan to South Sudan after the signing of CPA in the name of New Sudan.
