Juer Peace and Reconciliation Committee Condemns Violence Against Women in Londit Section

The Juer Peace and Reconciliation Committee hereby strongly condemns the heinous crimes of r**e and violence against women that occurred in the Londit Section, specifically an alarming incident of sexual assault and gang r**e targeting an innocent woman (names withheld ), beating of a woman with thorny stick in Akook.

We express our deep concern and outrage over these acts, which not only violate the dignity of the individual but also threaten the safety and security of women and girls in our communities. It is imperative that we acknowledge the troubling emergence of such criminal behaviors, which reflect a disturbing shift in societal attitudes, undermining the foundational principles of respect and protection

Furthermore, we call upon the government of Warrap State, specifically in Kuajok, to expedite the deployment of the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF). This initiative is essential to bolster security measures and provide reassurance to our women and girls, fostering an environment where they can live free from fear and violence.

As a community, we applaud the action taken by the community in Akook, to apprehend the three suspected criminals, as a sign of commitment to peace and Reconciliation recently reached. We must stand united against all forms of violence and abuse, ensuring that we uphold the rights and dignity of every individual. Together, we can work towards a safer and more equitable society for all.

Juer Media Reports Condemnation of Anonymous Account Abuse by Jieeng Luel Yith

Juer Media Report vehemently condemns the recent emergence of an anonymous account operated under the name Jieeng Luel Yith. This account has been utilized as a tool to undermine the vital efforts of the Juer Peace and Reconciliation Committee, with the intent to disrupt the progress of peace and reconciliation initiatives in Londit.

Although the actions of this account seem aimed at discrediting certain members of the committee, the broader implications are harmful to the peacebuilding process and the collective well-being of our community. Juer Media Report firmly rejects such acts of cowardice and manipulation, which only serve to foster division and mistrust.

We call upon the general public particularly members of Londit, Juer and Palieupiny sections to dismiss any misleading information disseminated by this anonymous account. Furthermore, we extend our sincere apologies to those individuals who have been adversely affected by this harmful propaganda.
