Achai Wiir denies allegations, legal action against Sora Jima initiated

In an exclusive statement to a Red pepper reporter, Achai Wiir, the businesswoman at the center of the Mombasa controversy, strongly refuted the sensational allegations made by Sora Jima. Sora accused Achai of threatening her life and engaging in ritualistic practices to accumulate wealth.

Achai confirmed that Sora was once a close friend, but after their fallout, Sora began spreading falsehoods to tarnish her reputation. In response, Achai expressed shock at the alleged accusations and is taking legal steps to address the matter.

"Sora was close to me, which is a fact, but after we parted ways, she started making up stories to taint my name. I am shocked that she would create such lies. I have already started legal steps to handle this," Achai stated in her exclusive quote to Red pepper.

The controversy gained momentum as Mombasa trended on South Sudanese social media due to Sora Jima's TikTok videos, where she alleged that Achai sent her and others to Mombasa to charm President Kiir and Advisor Benjamin Bol Mel for lucrative contracts.

Wondering why Mombasa is trending on South Sudanese social media? Here is why

Mombasa, the coastal city of Kenya, has become the talk of South Sudanese social media in recent days, sparking intrigue and speculation. The trending topic emerged after a series of TikTok videos posted by a user named Sora Jima made explosive claims, stirring a social media frenzy.

Sora Jima alleges that she and three other ladies were sent to Mombasa by businesswoman Achai Wiir with a mission to charm President Kiir and Presidential Advisor Benjamin Bol Mel to secure contracts worth millions of dollars. The videos surfaced after an apparent fallout between Sora and Achai. Sora claimed she was physically attacked by Achai’s relatives acting on Achai’s orders. She said gifts that were given to her by her former friend Achai including a car were confiscated. She even claimed police involvement in the fiasco.

Sora’s TikTok videos also made a bizarre tale of witchcraft, with pictures of President Kiir and Benjamin Bol Mel allegedly pinned on trees at the witchcraft’s shrine in Mombasa for rituals. Sora Jima claimed they made a blood oath, cutting their arms and promising secrecy about their activities.

While these claims circulate on social media, Hot in Juba couldn't independently verify the allegations. Attempts to contact Achai Wiir for her side of the story were unsuccessful as her known telephone number went unanswered.
