Aweil Local Football Association Elections Updates.
Date: 05.12.2024. Location;
Grand Hotel Aweil. Time 04:00 PM.

The Aweil Local Football Association (ALFA) is currently facing significant challenges regarding its leadership elections. The following points summarize the situation.

1. Rejection of Clubs.
- All clubs within the Aweil Local Football Association have been rejected from participating in the elections due to opposition against a single candidate for the Chairmanship, Mr. Dominic Dumo Lawrence.

2. Reasons for Removal of Clubs.
- Three clubs have been removed from the election process:
1. El Ghazala FC : Removed from the Election. one representative will be selected to vote. its administration will be selected to vote.
2. Aweil United FC: Also remove its administration will be selected to vote.
3. Christ Community FC, Removed from one representative will be selected to vote.

3. Secretary General Concerns.
- The state Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports has intervened regarding the fees required for official candidates. There are currently two individuals in contention for the position of Secretary General:
- Dhieu Deng Dut
- The current Secretary General, Mr. Jamal Adhallah

4. Candidate List.
- The following candidates are running for election:
1. Dominic Dumo Lawrence
2. Muolana Nyuol Kuot Nyuol
3. William Machok Mou

5. Awaiting Results.
- The Aweil Local Football Association is awaiting results from the South Sudan Football Association and the election committees. Representatives from these bodies are expected to arrive in Juba to finalize the election process.

6. Call for Good Governance.
- There is a strong need for effective leadership and governance within the South Sudan Football Association to ensure a fair election process.
