Breaking news:

🔹 In a significant political shake-up, South Sudan's President Salva Kiir has dismissed Vice Presidents Dr. James Wani Igga and Hussein Abdelbagi. The announcement was made through presidential decrees broadcast on the state-run South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) on Monday. Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel has been appointed to succeed Dr. Igga, while Josephine Lagu has been named as Abdelbagi's replacement.

This move marks a notable shift in South Sudan's leadership structure. The reasons behind these high-level dismissals and appointments have not been officially disclosed. Such changes are not unprecedented; in recent months, President Kiir has undertaken several significant reshuffles within the government. For instance, in December 2024, he dismissed the army chief, police inspector-general, and central bank governor in a major security and administrative overhaul.

These developments underscore the dynamic and often unpredictable nature of South Sudan's political landscape. Observers will be closely monitoring the implications of these changes on the nation's governance and stability.

Outrage over killing of South Sudanese by Sudan Armed Forces in Madani

Gruesome videos showing South Sudanese nationals being killed in Madani, Al Jazira State, Sudan, have sparked outrage on social media, with activists, politicians, and the public condemning the violence. The killings have raised concerns about the safety of thousands of South Sudanese stranded in Sudan due to ongoing conflict.

In response, Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement describing the attack as an isolated incident.

Activists and netizens have called for international intervention to protect South Sudanese citizens in Sudan and urged both governments to act swiftly to ensure justice and prevent further violence.

THE BIG FIVE DESTROYING SOUTH SUDAN

SICKLY STATE

A politician made a major shift from a stand that he took in the past. A fellow politician congratulated him and said, “I am glad that you saw the light.” The politician replied, “I just felt the heat.”

Since our politicians have refused to see the light, citizens ought to make them feel the heat. Citizens have to be enlightened!

Many people including foreign hands may be blamed for the situation South Sudan is in today, but there are key players who have contributed immensely to the challenges facing the nation today.

1. MAMA REBECCA NYANDENG DE MABIOR & GEN. KUOL MANYANG JUUK

When God realised He could not be present everywhere he created the mother - we must question God's given ability of our own mother! You may wonder and ask, how did these individuals contribute to the downfall of South Sudan? Kindly take a deep breath and if possible, a glass of water. Stop this Tiger attitude of “shooting first, then aiming later!”

Firstly, it’s imperative for our citizens to understand that today’s PROBLEMS are the results of yesterday’s SHORT-SIGHTED SOLUTIONS. Unless you just jetted in from London or Khartoum like those of Martin Elia and Tut-kew after hearing the death of Dr. John Garang De Mabior, those who followed the events closely at the New Site would recall how the current Salva Kiir was forced to sit on the chair of his comrade, the departed hero. Everyone was consoling with Mama Rebecca Nyandeng and her advice at that moment was the guiding principle. The most feared Kuol Manyang stood with Mama Rebecca. With his reddish bush eyes and voice, Kuol shouted at Salva Kiir and told him to take over the leadership.

Salva Kiir was hesitant. He knew his shortcomings but he would be compelled to take the mantle of power. Kiir was known in the bush as a selfless commander who can’t eat before his soldiers and loathe betrayal for selfish gains. He has never backstabbed Dr. John Garang and the liberation movement.
