GOVERNOR OF UNITY STATE, H.E. JUSTICE RIEK BIM TOP, SWORN IN 11 STATE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, URGES THEM TO PRIORITISE THE WELFARE OF THE LOCAL PEOPLE FIRST.
Bentiu, Wednesday, 4th December, 2024: H.E. Justice Riek Bim Top, the Governor of Unity State, has sworn in 7 state ministers, 3 county commissioners, and a member of the anti-corruption commission in a formal ceremony This event is significant as it represents a step towards governance and administrative renewal in the state.
The newly sworn-in cabinet officials, 3 county commissioners, and an anti-corruption commission member.
1. Hon. Tot Dhiaydor Turoal—Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement.
2-Hon. William Ruei Lok Jakok-Minister of Parliamentary & Legal Affairs.
3-Hon. Eng. Gatwich Bephal Both Minister of Information, Communication, and Technology.
4-Hon. Geng Kuony Puok—Culture, Youth & Sport.
5-Hon. Ruon Chan Ruai—Minister of Cooperative & Rural Development.
6-Hon. Bayak Ruai Wial—Minister of Roads and Bridges.
7-Hon. Stephen Kuina Gatjiek—Minister of Land, Housing, and Public Utilities.

Speaking on behalf of the sworn-in county commissioners, Hon. James Liyliy Kuol, Mayom County: "Your Excellency, On behalf of other commissioners, I and my colleagues believe that Bentiu is becoming a newborn child. I am aware that this trust will not go in vain; I and my colleagues will not let the Governor, President Kiir, and the SPLM down. We will make sure that locals are enjoying the services expected."
Hon. Minister of Land and Housing, Kueyne Gatjiek, speaking on behalf of the recent sworn-in ministers, expressed gratitude and reiterated that this day is one of the best days in Unity State and that commitment to service delivery remains in tag.
Hon. James G*i Gatduel, Minister of Agriculture, Environment, and Forestry: "I wanted to say congratulations to my new colleagues in the cabinet and urge them to go and discharge duties diligently as expected. The work you are trusted with isn't for your political parties. But for the people, you must make sure that, under your institution, services are delivered in the state."
H.E. the Deputy Governor of Unity State, Tor Tunguar Kueiguong: "I wanted to thank H.E. the governor for the trust you bestowed upon the newly sworn-in cabinets and to congratulate them. And I am reminding them to mainly focus on the footsteps of H.E. the governor, whose mission and energy is to reconcile our local people." H.E. the DP, the governor, said.
H.E. Justice Riek Bim Top, the Governor of Unity State, concluded with remarks urging the newly sworn-in officials to prioritise service delivery and systemization of the institutions and to put the welfare of the people first. “Your swearing in redefines you into a new person, who will serve the interest of the people first before yourselves. We must work hard not to create gaps within the society by accepting to work for the betterment of the people of Unity State, including her neighbours. H.E. the governor emphasised.
