BREAKING: Security Forces Deployed to Three Main Markets in Wau Town Following Tensions

In response to escalating tensions and reports of targeted actions against Sudanese citizens in Wau Town of Western Bahr el Ghazal State, security forces have been deployed to the Three main markets – Jou Market, Suk Wau, and Suk Ajare. These measures aim to prevent the looting of Sudanese shops and protect individuals from potential attacks as a result of recent events in Wad Madani, Sudan.

A woman was injured during a crossfire that erupted on the streets as anger boiled over.

The situation began when a group of South Sudanese residents organized a protest over the issues of South Sudansese nationals being tragically massacred by Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) in Wad Medani, Al Gezira State, expressing their frustrations loudly.

A source at Juba Teaching Hospital says, the hospital recorded at least 12 gunshot victims last night. 2 with critical injuries and 10 with none life threatening wounds.

One victim reportedly shot in the chest is being transferred to Gieda Military Hospital for urgent operation.

The spokesperson of the South Sudan People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF), L*l Ruai, has announced that the army is closely monitoring the security situation in Juba. In a statement released tonight, he assured the public that updates will be provided by tomorrow morning.

This comes as sporadic gunfire continues to be heard across the city. According to sources, security forces are firing shots into the air in an effort to deter citizens from vandalizing or looting shops.

Authorities have not confirmed any casualties or significant incidents, but residents are urged to remain calm as the situation unfolds.

President Kiir’s press secretary calls for calm

Lily Adhieu, the press secretary for President Salva Kiir, has condemned the recent killings of South Sudanese civilians by Sudanese armed forces, describing the acts as “barbaric.”

BREAKING: V6 Vehicle Overturns in Twic County

A V6 vehicle carrying three passengers overturned this afternoon due to high speed on the road between Wunrok and Turalei in Twic County, Warrap State.

Malek Abraham Biar shared the news on his Facebook timeline, describing the scene as a "very terrible accident" along the road connecting Wunakeec and Abyei Dau in Wunrok Payam.

“The cause of the incident is speeding by a young boy. The type of vehicle is V6, and three people were on board. One person got injured, and some good Samaritans took him to Mother Teresa Hospital in Turalei,” Biar wrote.
