I was able to take a picture of this awesome antique, the Austin Rolls Royce PR1, in the National Museum of Guyana, which was presented to Guyana’s first Prime Minister, Forbes Burnham by the Queen of England when the county gained its Independence on May 26, 1966.

Wow I can't believe I would have ever seen these Icons again in my lifetime!
There were three of these types of ferries, the Malali, Torani and the Makouria
Unfortunately the Torani sank a few years ago. I am much more familiar with the Torani because that ferry use to operate on the Berbice river.
Both the Malali and Torani were built in then British Guiana and the Makouria was built in the UK.
Wow, Wow! Two Icons from the late 50's early 60's !

I also know the Sandaka pontoon from Berbice also, it use to also operate on the Berbice River, from Blairmont Estate to New Amsterdam.
Another Icon still sailing today wow!
