Appreciation for Crutches Donation

We are thrilled to announce the generous donation of crutches by the WHYTE HOUSE FAMILY. This thoughtful gesture has been warmly received and is deeply appreciated by the disability community.

We assure you that these crutches will be distributed to those in dire need, ensuring they reach individuals who truly require them for mobility and independence.

We also take this opportunity to encourage private sector players, business owners, and community stakeholders to continue supporting our efforts through donations and contributions. Together, we can improve the lives of children, youth, and women with disabilities.

We are organizing a Training of Trainers (ToT) program focused on life skills for youths with disabilities. The selected trainers will, in turn, train other youths with various abilities in their communities.

These life skills sessions will be conducted monthly in designated safe spaces where youths with different abilities will gather to discuss life skills and other issues affecting them.

This initiative aims to empower youths with disabilities by equipping them with essential life skills and creating a supportive environment for continuous learning and discussion.

Today, with the generous support of the Bo District Council, SLAPWA distributed school materials and physical cash to children living with albinism and the girl who topped the NPSE in the south. This initiative aims to provide these children with the necessary resources and financial support to ensure they remain in school, focus on their studies, and build confidence through access to essential materials.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Bo District Council Chairman, his executives, and all the management and staff of the council for their invaluable support. This assistance will significantly impact the lives of the children with albinism, enabling them to thrive in their educational journey.

We pledge to continue our collaboration with the Bo District Council to support and empower more children with albinism to stay in school and succeed. Thank you once again for your unwavering support and dedication to this cause.

Disability Inclusion has launched a school accessibility campaign aimed at promoting inclusivity for persons with disabilities in educational institutions.

Today, with support from SUMH, we visited two schools to advocate for the inclusion of children and youth with disabilities in all school activities, including games and sports. We emphasized the importance of creating accessible classrooms, wash facilities, and school environments to accommodate students with diverse abilities.

This initiative is a step toward fostering inclusive education and ensuring equal opportunities for all learners, regardless of their abilities.

During one of our visits to the Gundama community, we encountered a woman who had no wheelchair and was forced to crawl on the ground. Through our collaboration with Mobility Sierra Leone we were able to bring her to Bo, where she received a new wheelchair. This wheelchair will elevate her from the ground, restore her dignity, and allow her to move independently from one place to another. It will also enable her to improve her business.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mobility Sierra Leone, our Disability Youth Volunteers Network in Bo, and the leadership of Disability Inclusion -Sierra Leone for making this possible. Your support has made a significant impact on her life. Thank you so much.

We are committed to empowering Youths with different abilities by providing training in advocacy and lobbying skills. This training will enable them to take responsibility and champion their own issues. Recognizing the importance of collective effort, we are dedicated to creating a supportive space because no one can achieve this alone. Recently, we have expanded our efforts by forming another Youths with Disabilities Volunteers Network in the Gondama community of Bo District. Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive community.

Dear Friends,

In every challenge lies a unique strength waiting to be discovered. Your abilities, not your disabilities, define who you are. Health is Wealth: Let's Take Care of Our Eyes

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming a team of health professionals from Sight Servers in Bo to focus on the health of our community, particularly the eye health of persons with disabilities, including those with low vision. This engagement was a great success. They provided treatment to nearly everyone in attendance. All disabled persons who were present received the necessary medication. Some were given glasses, others received eye drops, and some were provided with ointments.

We want to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to Sight Serversl for their unwavering support and assistance to persons with disabilities. Your help is invaluable and deeply appreciated.

Additionally, we extend our thanks to everyone who came out today for treatment. Remember, our eyes are crucial to our overall health and well-being, so let's take good care of them.
