**Double Champions Mogbwema Queens Intensify Training Ahead of CAF Women's Championship**
Sierra Leone Women's Premier League double champions, the Mogbwema Queens from Rutile, are intensifying their training ahead of the CAF Women's Championship, slated for August 2-22, 2024. The tournament will be hosted at the beautiful Southern Arena Stadium in Bo. To strengthen their squad, the management of Mogbwema Queens has signed two foreign players: Nadi Quade, an attacking midfielder from Guinea-Bissau, and Ghanaian-born attacker Ativor Holali.
Mogbwema Queens is the first club from Sierra Leone to participate in the CAF Women's Championship twice. They made their debut in the tournament in Liberia after winning the 2022/2023 Sierra Leone Women's Premier League title. They will appear again in this year’s CAF Women's Championship after clinching the league title undefeated.
According to Mogbwema Queens' head coach, Adama Suma, last year's CAF Championship appearance was a learning process for the team, as it was the first time a Sierra Leonean female team participated in such a tournament. "I’m preparing my team to correct all our previous mistakes and give Sierra Leoneans who believe in us the results they are yearning for," she said. She further explained that she and her technical team have included some Sierra Leonean players whom they believe can add value to the squad.
