The latest module of the FIFA Diploma in Club Management has taken place in South America.

Over the course of a week, participants were able to gain unique insights from the Argentinian Football Association (AFA) as well as four of the nation’s top-flight clubs.

Federico Pérez, FIFA Professional Football Relations & Development Consultant, said: “We were very happy to bring the Diploma in Club Management to Argentina, the land of the world champions, to connect clubs, raise competitiveness, and help to make football truly global."

Looking to encapsulate the essence of the FIFA programme, former CEO of Argentine club Defensa y Justicia, Guido Baroli, said: "The FIFA Diploma in Club Management is focused on understanding the management of clubs trying to build sustainable business models.

“The program allows us to meet industry professionals with different profiles, with different ideas and diverse backgrounds and provides us with tools and case studies to apply to our clubs."

The FA will study John Brooks' report before deciding whether Virgil van Dijk should be given additional punishment for dissent.

My big question ⁉️ Are players not human beings? Are not not supposed to question a referee? Yet he is the Captain!

Why do FA usually protect the referees for some silly decisions they make. We have never seen a referee being fined, but only relieved from the following one week matches.

Runway lighting stolen from Nigerian airport.

Thieves have stolen the lighting system for one of the runways at Nigeria's busiest airport just months after it was installed, an airport authority spokesman has confirmed to the BBC.

An investigation has now been launched to "arrest the criminals [and] recover what's missing", Yakubu Funtua added.

It is not clear when the system was taken from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

But local media reported that airport workers were involved in the theft.

The ground lights were installed in November, ending years of after-dusk restrictions on landing on that wing of the airport.

Domestic carriers were forced to divert to the international section and taxi about 4km (2.5 miles) back to the right terminal, which caused flight disruptions.

Mr Funtua told the BBC that the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria will "block all loopholes to prevent [a] future occurrence".

The criminals took advantage of the fact that the runway had been closed for months for maintenance to take the lighting system, an unnamed source told Nigeria's Punch newspaper.

The source blamed a "syndicate" of workers at the airport along with "accomplices from outside" for a series of thefts.

Kylian Mbappé returned to Cameroon 🇨🇲 this week, whilst Memphis Depay has been hanging out in Ghana 🇬🇭. This is part of a growing trend European footballers returning to their African roots.

In recent years stars such as Bukayo Saka 🇳🇬 , Antonio Rudiger 🇸🇱 , Patrice Evra 🇸🇳 and Cody Gakpo 🇹🇬 (all of whom have represented European national teams) have visited the West African countries where they or their parents were born.

And they are doing it very strategically – not just visiting family but popping up in strategic locations with other popular African sports and entertainment stars. Depay appeared on Nigerian DJ Cuppy's instagram account, whilst Mpabbe was seen eating 'ndole' with MMA legend Francis Ngannou and playing basketball with Joachim Noah whilst in Cameroon.

There’s an increasing recognition within the sports industry that Africa is not just about charity photo shoots but also offers a potential high-growth commercial opportunity 📈 .

For many top football clubs, the number of fans in Sub-Saharan Africa dwarfs those in the more developed European market, and since there is far less monetisation of African fans, there is potential for much more rapid growth compared to the relatively slow growth seen in more mature markets.

💰 In a world where athletes are taking more control over their personal brands, athletes with large followings in Africa will be able to command far bigger commercial deals than those without.

They will also be able to do what music stars such as Davido, Burna Boy and Rema have done, and use fanatic followings based on the continent to give them a sense of authenticity and hype which they've used to build massive global fanbases, both in the African diaspora and beyond.

The ship manufactured in Finland by a ship making company called Royal Caribbean International will carry 5610 passengers and 2350 crew members.

The Icon Of The Seas is 5 times bigger and heavier than the Titanic weighing 250,800 tons while Titanic weighed 50,210 tons.
