If someone told me I could watch hockey with former AHL players (and a Calder cup winner) for 7 bucks in Slovakia, I’d probably laugh. And yet… here we are.

The reporter asked specifically about Šimon Nemec hattrick, yet Sheldon Keefe somehow turned the answer into another praise session for Luke Hughes who had “exceptional” game with 2 giveaways causing 2 goals.

My mission is working!! Someone just commented on my YouTube saying my video made them want to come back to Slovakia just for hockey.

That’s the exact reason I started doing this, and seeing it happen in real time feels wild. I’ve got four more Slovak hockey videos ready to go and if this keeps up, I might actually drag half the hockey internet to our rinks ;)

Why do so many Slovaks trash Slafkovsky and Nemec, the two guys who put Slovakia back on the hockey map?

Every time they do something great, the comments jump straight to how they don’t deserve their salary or how they’re overrated. Is it envy? I honestly don’t know. If they were playing badly, fine, but they’re not.

They’re doing well, and the hate still keeps coming from the usual group of overweight couch surfers in their fifties who love to shout at twenty-one-year-olds chasing the hardest career in the world.

Petr Tomek is freshly 17 — and he’s already rewriting what “rookie season” means in Czech hockey.

With 8 goals and 1 assist in his first 20 Extraliga games for HC Karlovy Vary, he’s become one of the youngest active scorers in the league.

He’s not the biggest player on the ice (175 cm), but his quickness, positioning, and pure confidence make him stand out every night.

It’s not every day you see a teenager handle pro-level pressure like this. Czech hockey might have its next big export on its hands.

💬 What do you think — does Petr Tomek have NHL potential or will he dominate Europe first?

I create hockey content daily — from quick TikToks to long-form storytelling. Happy to bring this energy to brands or media projects.

I made this video last week after seeing so many people online saying Simon Nemec has points but “should be sent to the AHL because he’s not NHL quality.”

Well… those comments aged like milk.

Nemec’s proving exactly why he belongs — calm under pressure, creating plays, and producing when it matters most. Last night, he became the youngest player in the NHL history to score a hattrick, including OT winner.

It’s funny how quick people are to judge young players before they’ve even had the chance to show what they can become.

Did you know there are NHL players who don’t just believe in God — they build their entire life and career around Jesus Christ?

Yeah. In a league full of money, fame, ego, and fighting, there are guys whose whole identity is in Christ, not their stats.

You see them on the ice — the hits, the goals, the chaos — and you’d never guess what’s behind it. But once you dig, you realise how deep it runs.

They pray before games, after games, in the locker room, in interviews. They talk about Jesus like He’s their teammate, not some distant idea.
Jaromír Jágr has always worn his faith on his sleeve, even when the world mocked it.

Marián Hossa said more than once that peace and humility came from Jesus, not from his Stanley Cup rings.

Jakob Chychrun openly thanked Christ for carrying his family through his mother’s cancer.

Nick Foligno said his leadership and patience come from the way Jesus taught forgiveness.

Owen Power, Kent Johnson, Fehérváry, Vejmelka, Charlie Lindgren — these guys pray together, talk about Christ in interviews, post Scripture quietly while the rest of the league posts Lamborghinis and watches.

This isn’t “I cross myself before a faceoff.”
This is full commitment — guys who straight-up say “Jesus Christ is the reason I play.”

And I get it — it sounds crazy. It doesn’t fit the image of hockey we know.
But maybe that’s the point. Maybe faith shouldn’t fit neatly next to brand deals and stat sheets.

Because when your whole career can end with one bad hit, you start to see what really matters.
That’s when faith stops being a hobby and becomes oxygen.

People love to argue about the best stick curve or who’s the real GOAT, but these players literally put their careers in God’s hands.
They trust Him with injuries, contracts, wins, losses, all of it.

And honestly? I respect that more than any hat trick.
It’s easy to believe when you’re winning. It’s another thing entirely to trust Jesus when your season falls apart — and they do it anyway.

That’s not weakness. That’s the strongest thing I’ve seen in hockey.

I posted this video after Kometa Brno’s amazing win in Zug in the Champions League — well done to the juniors who played brilliantly!

I could’ve said the same thing about yesterday’s game… but, Mr. Coach, I honestly don’t understand the goalie change. The starting goalie was exceptional — fantastic performance, just one goal allowed, keeping the score 1:1.

I get that some teams don’t seem to care much about the Champions League, but if that’s the case… why even be in it?

I don’t want to speak badly about the young goalie who came in during the third period — he’s a junior, new to the top Czech league, and clearly trying his best. But the result says enough: the juniors lost 6:1, and the previous CHL game already had a 5.7 rating.

Is this really how we’re building players’ confidence?

But anyway, what do I know?

Most people don’t know this, but one of hockey’s biggest innovations came from a Slovak kid whose village no longer exists.

Stan Mikita was born in Sokolče, a small Slovak village that’s now underwater (literally — it was flooded to build the Liptovská Mara reservoir).
He moved to Canada at eight, grew up in Ontario, and became one of the best players in NHL history.

And he also changed the game forever — by accident.

One day his stick blade cracked during practice, leaving it curved. He noticed the puck flew off it faster, harder, and with crazy movement.
So he started heating and bending his sticks on purpose.
That’s how the curved stick was born — and every shot you see today, from Ovechkin’s one-timer to McDavid’s wrist shot, traces back to that moment.
A Slovak-born player, raised in Canada, invented something that every player in the world uses now.

Kind of poetic, isn’t it?

Simon Nemec once again proved why he belongs in the NHL.

He was the second star (again) of the game after tying it against the Islanders and sending New Jersey to overtime — an absolutely electric moment, especially when it’s his signature one-timer.

Not even two weeks ago, people online were saying he should be sent back to the AHL because of his mistakes. Well… who doesn’t make them? lol.

Nemec thrives under pressure — that’s why he’s trusted on the power play and in overtime. He can literally decide games and bring points when it matters most.

So, to the haters: he’s not going anywhere. He’s never going back to the AHL.

📊 9 points in 16 games.

Faith runs deeper in the NHL than most people realize.

Hockey is known for speed, toughness, and skill — not exactly the first place you’d expect to find quiet moments of prayer.
