Happy 10th Birthday, Dogecoin!

The recent 10% surge in Dogecoin's price on its 10th anniversary appears to be driven by increased activity from large-wallet investors (whales) and the influential impact of Elon Musk's involvement.

Over the past week, there has been a noticeable uptick in whale transactions, involving investors with substantial holdings exceeding $100,000. This surge in whale activity has played a pivotal role in propelling the price of Dogecoin (DOGE), grabbing the attention of those closely following the cryptocurrency market.

The genesis of Dogecoin traces back to late 2013, during the peak of the cryptocurrency boom, when software engineers Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer engaged in an online conversation. Inspired by the popular "Doge" internet meme featuring a Shiba Inu dog, Markus and Palmer aimed to create a cryptocurrency that would be entertaining and accessible to a broader audience. Markus, based in Portland, Oregon, took the lead in developing the technical aspects of Dogecoin. Leveraging the existing codebase of Luckycoin, another cryptocurrency derived from Litecoin, Markus successfully introduced the initial version of Dogecoin through code modifications and the incorporation of the Doge meme theme.

Elon Musk, a key figure in the cryptocurrency world, holds considerable influence over meme coins due to his impactful tweets and public statements. Musk's well-documented affinity for meme coins, especially Dogecoin, has been consistently expressed through numerous tweets, generating excitement and speculation among traders. Musk's support for Dogecoin has even spurred the creation of other meme coins inspired by his persona.

It's noteworthy that Musk's endorsements of Dogecoin have faced legal challenges. In June of the previous year, plaintiff Keith Johnson filed a $258 billion lawsuit against Musk in New York, alleging that Musk, along with Tesla and SpaceX, engaged in a "pyramid scheme" to artificially inflate the meme coin's price through his tweets.

This legal dispute underscores the significant impact of Musk's influence on the cryptocurrency market, particularly within the realm of meme coins.

Bitcoin fell after the monthly US jobs report showed that payrolls expanded at a faster-than-expected pace and the unemployment rate fell, bolstering expectations that the Federal Reserve will continue the aggressive rate hikes that have pulled down risk assets.

Many have been asking me about this in particular and what they should be doing now.

If you are holding coins right now, staying strong and believing in technology is probably what I'll recommed you to do.

If you are considering in buying more, please read this :

When buying the dip, crypto investors should proceed with extreme caution.

When asset prices decline as rapidly as they have in the crypto market recently, it can make that coin you’ve had your eye on look like a super deal. But old Wall Street professionals have a rule of thumb that aptly describes moments like this: “Never try to catch a falling knife.”

Using your imagination, you should understand that catching a falling knife—aka “buying the dip”—nearly always ends painfully. That’s not to say that skillful investors can’t make a quick buck trading on heightened market volatility. But the point here is that big, fast market moves can be unsettling for the typical retail investor.

Most of the clients have been reaching out to me regarding this new feature on Tiktok. So here's just a brief update.

Tap the Now button (lightning icon) to see an Explore Feed of TikTok Now.

So basically, Now posts that are trending or those from mutual followers.

After activating the new feature, you will receive a daily prompt to capture a 10-second video or a static photo to share what you’re up to.

The tricky part about this is that users must be 18 or older to share their TikTok Now posts on the Explore Feed.

For users 13 to 15, only your friends (people you follow who follow you back) will be able to see and comment on your posts.

From my understanding, in regions outside the US, TikTok Now is available as a standalone app.
The app works a lot like the TikTok Now experience currently baked into the TikTok app within the US.

But, as a separate mobile app you must download, it allows users to opt-in to receive push notifications for check-ins.

TikTok Now will send you a notification every 24 hrs, but there is no exact time or schedule. If you haven’t opened the app for a while, you will likely receive a reminder notification sooner.

The research team for this section will only be set up in Mid October when we get to see how it works exactly amongst the influencers and how it can be boosted as well with justifyable stats.

Brands might be expecting you to make sure that you are naturally sharing about how your usage with the sponsored product / service on the NOW feature to explain randomly about what you "are up to"
