As we draw close to the last work day of the year, I reflected on all that's happened in 2022.

Perhaps, like me, you've experienced some major shifts in your career or moved to a different work environment.

Or perhaps you've achieved an important milestone for your business.

And some of us may be trusting the Lord for a better opportunity in business or employment.

Whatever you are believing the Lord for, Daddy God is right there beside you. He promised to be with us always, until the end of time, and He's a promise keeper.

As we take time to usher in the new year with family and friends, take time to remind them that the Lord loves them dearly, as He does you, and He will SURELY CAUSE 2023 to be a BLESSED YEAR for you and your family!

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
III John 1:2

I declare that the plans of the evil one to steal, to kill and to destroy be reversed and Daddy God's blessing flow abundantly in every area of your life and that no evil shall befall you nor any plague come near you.

You shall be the head and not the tail, the first and but the last.

You shall enjoy his Zoe life every day on earth as it is in heaven, you shall walk in His plans for you and be a blessing to all around you.

Shalom!

Caleb said this to Joshua, reminding him of the promise of God delivered through Moses.

He had been holding on to the promises close to his heart all those years the Israelites wandered in the desert.

The journey that was supposed to take 20 days (160 hours from Egypt to Israel, about 500 miles), took 40 years.

Joshua and Caleb believed God when He told them they and their decendants would receive the land of Canaan that they spied.

When the other Israelites were complaining and lost hope, he was probably meditating on those promises.

At 85 years old, Caleb remained as strong for war as he was when he was 40 (read Joshua 14).

He led his tribe to attack the hill country of Kiriath-arba, where the Anakims, who were the biggest giants, used to lived, and the Lord gave them victory.

What promises do you hold on today? Jesus is our guarantee that all the promises of God are yes and amen!

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.

He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place,

No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;

For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.

He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.

With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”

Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.
Isaiah 49:16

"Walls" refer to the walls of Jerusalem but it also signifies security, habitation, protection and possessions.

The chapter of Isaiah is not written just for the Israelites who were captive in Babylon.

It is the Lord's declaration of His love for you. It was a prophecy of Jesus' crucifixion on the cross.

Read the chapter for yourself - slowly. God chose you in your mother's womb, He knows you by name.

Despite your situation and your doubts, He will save you, He is with you, He will prosper you.

He even sent Jesus to save you on the cross to prove that He loves you.

Why did God chose you?

He says: “It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”
Isaiah 49:6

Psalm 23 is one of the most quoted chapter in the Bible, especially when we are going through difficult, fearful or trying times.

Why does it comfort us so much?

The author, King David is described as "a man after God's own heart" (1Sam13:14).

One of the reasons is because he understood the grace and love of God.

Psalm 23 emphasises the faithfulness of God.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Psalm 23:1

He makes us lie down to rest and drink... He restores our souls when we are weary. He keeps us righteous.

He protects us.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4

King David wrote this Psalm in old age, possibly when running from his son, Absalom.

He prayed to God that He'll not forsake him in his old age.

So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.
Psalm 71:18

This psalm is recorded in the Bible to tell us that our Daddy God does not forget His love for us, He does not abandon us even when we are running from our enemies.

In fact the Holy Spirit inspired the prophet Isaiah to pen a beautiful reply to this psalm in Isaiah:

Even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.
Isaiah 46:4

Our Daddy God made us, he will bear, carry and save us from our biggest enemies.

15/05/2022

Why is Gen 38 - the story of Judah inserted after telling us that Joseph was sold to Egypt in Gen 37 and only continuing his story in Gen 39?

The old testament is full of hidden images of Christ.

Gen 37 tells us that Judah married a Cannanite wife and had 3 sons - Er, Onan and Shelah.

Er married Tamah and died. According to their traditions, Judah gave Ornan to marry her.

When he too died, Judah refused to give Shelah, fearing that he might die too.

Tamah dressed as a temple pr******te and tricked Judah into sleeping with her and gave birth to Zerah and Perez.

Wait. What was Judah doing sleeping with a temple pr******te?

Apparently he just lost his wife not long ago but Tamah knew he was going to fall for her trap, which might mean it's not his first time doing that.

What's significant is this:
Judah, Tamah and Perez were chosen as ancestors of Jesus.

In fact they're only 4 women listed in Jesus' genealogy: Tamah, Rahab, Ruth and Bathsheba.

All of them are "undeserving".

Tamah - a Jew who pretended to be a temple pr******te, Rahab - a professional pr******te, Ruth - a Moabitess and Bathsheba an adultress.

There's also a hidden message here. What do we do when our awareness (Er) and strength(Ornan) have failed us and our petition(Shelah) is denied?

So she took off her widow’s garments (mourning clothes), covered herself with a veil and wrapped herself, and sat in an open place which was on the way to Timnah...
Gen 38:14

Metaphorically, she stopped mourning. She veiled herself (first mention of veil - Rebekah veiled herself when meeting Isaac - image of a bride), sat at Enaim on the road to Timnah.

Enaim means double spring fountain -
Hebrew root word Ayin - eyes, and Timnah- portion.

We should SIT with our AYIN on our PORTION in Christ, or sit where the word of God is preached.

Our promotion (Zerah - rising) is secured by a scarlet thread (Jesus' blood).

Our breakthrough (Perez) comes in His perfect time through Jesus Christ.
