The original intent of the Evil Singing Pandas (ESP) in 2007, was to do legit sounding metal music, with lyrics which are hilarious as f**k. Remy Evilpanda (remaining member of ESP) invited Rex Viperon, Chief Composer and Guitarist of Thai Black Metal Quartet Dei Tetra, on board to form a 2 piece Trash Metal with Comedy element. Remy would contribute on lyrics writing and vocals, and Rex will do..

. pretty much the rest. After releasing our debut EP "Descendants of Angels and Lions" on the 22nd of April 2017. We all had to wait till 2020, when we release one-new-song-per-month, engaging our friends and friends ever so regularly. With international collaboration with Laang (Keelung, Taiwan), Witch Taint (Cleveland Ohio, USA) and Vrangsinn (Skien, Norway), 2020 has been a rewarding and fruitful year for ESP. Fast forward to November 2021, with close to 7 years of partnership with Rex, 2 live concerts, 17 Singles, 2 Eps, and 2 Compilation albums, Rex has decided to call it a day with ESP. ESP will carry on in the form of our weekly talk show “In Conversations with ESP” with Joey Chin. We will be speaking to guests with the most fascinating stories to tell and we look forward to your continuous support, as Joey and I continue building the ESP community. - Remy ESP

Extended bio of Evil Singing Pandas on Spotify:

Evil Singing Pandas (ESP) was founded by Remy Evilpanda (Singapore) in 2010, with an intention of playing Thrash Metal music with some seriously badass humour.

Through various manifestations with numerous line-up changes ESP played hard rock, heavy metal covers and even acoustic-unplug sets. Remy held on to the name ESP with all his might through the years, until late 2015 when he met Rex Santikorn maestro from Thai Black Metal Band, Dei Tetra.

The two spoke at length and decided to go at it, and launched their first 5 tracks EP “Descendants of Angels and Lions” in April 2017.

The EP was laden with fast, aggressive yet melodic guitar works and angry-barking vocals as if chastising deities and gods. However, beneath all the aggression and hostility lies an innocent but wicked sense of humour.

This would be ESP’s formula in music making in the following years and opportunities with collaborating with some of the most fascinating names including Kohld Haveneson of Laang from Keelung, Taiwan, Daniel Vrangsinn from Norway of the Carpathian Forest fame, Ex-bassist of Deflied, Hiroaki Sato from Japan (Aka Satokin) and Lance the King of Black Metal from Gary, Indiana, USA (Aka Dave Hill) from Witch Taint.

Remy has also released a number of pre-Rex Viperon era’s ESP materials including a 5 track EP “Blood Tangerine Sky” featuring Remy on all instruments and “拜年“ a classic Lunar New Year song done in Metal recorded in 2010. The track “Son of Suns” is Remy’s attempt record all guitars and basses, bringing back the vibes of Blood Tangerine Sky.

The latest offering “We Are The Mighty Eagles” is a song officially endorsed by Singapore Premier League Team Geylang International FC as their official Anthem, composed by Remy. Laang took helm on all instruments, Joan Sia contributed backing vocals and Run Ran Run on Illustrations. This prolific Anthem would also end ESP’s 12 year journey.

Evil Singing Pandas: Remy & Rex - the unlikely duo.

The original intent of the Evil Singing Pandas (ESP) in 2007, was to do legit sounding metal music, with lyrics which are hilarious as f**k. Well, it didn't work out that way until.... 10 years later. Remy Evilpanda (remaining member of ESP) invited Rex Viperon, Chief Composer and Guitarist of Thai Black Metal Quartet Dei Tetra, on board to form a 2 piece Trash Metal with Comedy element. Viperon Agreed. (Hurray). Remy would contribute on lyrics writing and vocals, and Rex will do... pretty much the rest. Our inaugural EP "Descendants of Angels and Lions" was released World Wide on the 22nd of April 2017. The EP garnered positive reviews all round, with some veterans commented and classified us under Crossover-Thrash Metal but maintaining tradtional Teutonic tone.

With influences ranging from S***m, Slayer, Metallica to Municipal Waste and Biohazard, it’s hard to define what Evil Singing Pandas actually is.

Stay tuned our new works, recorded in Viper’s Den in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand releasing in 2020.
