If you are craving okonomiyaki, seiwaa would probably be the first to pop up on the search result. Due to its popularity, please place a reservation before coming. You can book grill or non-grill table, but I strongly recommend the grill table since you get to order their souffle pancakes (ONLY on Mon-Thurs). You know the place is autentic when you can hear japanese being spoken by the customers.

What's good? Their chicken karaage is a good appetiser as it's juicy and crispy on the outside. Okonomiyaki is also a go-to option and I think any toppings is fine as it depends on your preference. Honestly, most okonomiyaki taste very similar. Hence, I have not eaten one that tastes outstanding, but you can definitely try this if you have a craving for it. Their yakiudon is pretty average, nothing outstanding.

Now the kicker is their soufflรฉ - if you like roasted marshmallows, then this is for you. It has a nice toasted exterior due to the grill and the air bubbles in the batter provide great insulation, causing the interior to remain fluffy. Skip the cheese option as it doesn't add much to the taste. My favourite sauce is the gula meleka to add on the soufflรฉ making it a great dessert to end the meal. Please note that this is only available on tables with grills and on Mon-Thurs.

I haven't tried their other grilled food options but heard from others that they are good. You can definitely visit this restaurant if you are craving okomiyaki and are in the area.

Chimichanga serves good mexican food but at a higher price point. They have a few outlets but this review is only for the Holland Village outlet. They have different offers for different days such as taco tuesday and happy hours but one gripe I have is that it's outdoors๐Ÿ˜…

I strongly recommend the borracho fish as it has such a nice crispy exterior but fluffy interior. The mango salsa complements the fish by providing a sweet and tangy addition. You can get the taco if you want something light or can get the rice bowl for a more filling meal.

Overall, I found the chipotle chicken not as fantastic. Some parts were a little dry and not very consistent, but the guacmole was good.

You can try the chimichanga which is a deep fried burrito and it's quite carb heavy. It's filled with rice, beans and a hefty amount of meat. There's nothing too exciting about it except that it's like a regular burrito with a crispy exterior. Overall, go for the good vibes and the fish.

๐Ÿ“ International Plaza Level 2 (Tanjong Pagar)
๐Ÿ’ฐ Expected damage $20-$25

Enishi is a trending Japanese noodle store tucked away level 2 of International Plaza. They are known for their dan dan men which consists of shredded chashu, minced pork, white diced onions, fried onions, pickles, mizuna and an onsen egg. Now they have an option of adding curry powder which gives it a nice kick. After mixing, the noodles become incredibly savoury especially with the peanut sauce. Initially it doesnt look like a huge serving but you might have difficulty finishing it half way through.

Their basic dashi noodle is honestly on par with their dan dan men if you are not a saucy kind of person. The broth is not salty and has a right balance of umami that keeps you hooked on it. The charshu was very nicely torched and duck was nicely roasted. The main selling point is that they get their broth right.

The place is incredibly small that can only seat about 10 pax so is a eat and go kind of place. You might face a waiting time of 30mins even on a weekend lunch timing so do come early.

[Halal Certified]

If you are looking for a sinful cheat meal, Mahmud's Tandoor is the place. They only sell 2 types of burgers - tandoori chicken and it's fried counter part crispydoori. Both are equally bussin as the spices are so aromatic that it will draw you in faster than bees to honey. The chicken is sizeable and cheese together with the harissa mayo sauce makes it so decadent. They also make sliders for those who want to cater for parties as well.

Their loaded fried are not to be slept on, lathered with more sauce and mini tandori chicken bites. Definitely worth the upgrade for the set meal.

For a sugar rush, you may opt for the slush but be warn, it's really sweet. They always have 2 flavours, chai peng and bandung slush. But there will be a flavour that is always changing which is their slush of the day.

The only downside to this place is that there is limited seating since it's a free seating area shared by other vendors in curbside crafters and can be quite crowded with people looking to shop. They also do islandwide delivery as well if you like to eat from the comfort of your home.

I have always been eyeing this place on my runs around the park connector in Punggol and am glad to have visited this place. Do make a reservation via Whatsapp before coming as it may be quite crowded during dinner time as it is known for their craft beers.

Food wise, they have a range of dishes from local, western and Japanese cuisine. My top favourites are the Hokkien Mee and the Wanton Mee. Their portion of pork lard is very generous and the Hokkien Mee is one of the better ones where the prawn broth is flavourful but wok hei is not as prominent as others. For the Wanton Mee, it has a nice chewy and sweet sausage, springy noodles that do not clump together and the char siew is not too lean. My main gripe is that the portion is abit too small.

KL Dai Lok Mee (KL Hokkien Mee) is also a viable option but not as flavourful as the fried Hokkien Mee. I was hoping there would be more wok hei to enhance the flavour. Both Hokkien Mee have a side of belachan chili which is not too spicy but still provides a nice kick. Both oyakodon and deep fried chicken cutlet are average, nothing too fantastic not bad. Overall, good place to eat and drink craft beer with a budget.

If you want cheap and good Thai food, don't come here. If you don't mind paying extra to enjoy GREAT, bussin thai food then come to Numnum. During dinner hours, it's almost a guarantee to find yourself waiting for 30-45 mins just to get a seat, and the food is definitely justifiable.

My personal favorite are their grilled pork skewers (moo ping) and the pandan chicken. The meats are so juicy and flavorful but are pricy. The steelpot vermicelli is a good carb option as the noodles have a wok hey, smoky flavour. The vegetables were a pleasant surprise as it was tasty, probably because there is quite a bit of oil used during the stir frying process.

The tom yum clear seafood soup is not very spicy for Singaporean standard but still pack enough kick to enjoy. It is full of seafood and herbs, which makes it very aromatic. Lastly, the most expensive item I bought, the crab omelette, is HUGE and contains a lot of crab meat. I can certainly see why it is expensive as the exploding amounts of meat justify its price tag.

Overall, if you want good Thai food, come to Numnum!

Founder's Cafe is a trending cafe in JB and it live up to its reputation. It has a variety of options including vegetarian mains but it is not halal certified. Very crowded during peak hours and would recommend you to come early so that their mains won't be sold out.

My personal favourite is their tom yum flavoured quesadilla which is not spicy but savoury. It's not thick so it is quite light and won't feel jelak. The cashew nut pesto chicken pasta is a good alternative if you'd like a heavier meal and there is a good amount of chicken in it as well.

In general, anything that has the recommended logo in their menu cannot go wrong. If looking for lighter options, their cinnamon rolls are a sweet treat but can definitely take a pass on their cheesecake.

Oven & Fried Chicken is an establishment that sells korean food (specialising in fried chicken) and has an outlet in SG and MY. The good thing about the ones in MY is their prices are less than half of that of SG๐Ÿ˜‹. However, the outlet that I went to had many of their fried chicken flavours out of stock and stuck to the original as well as the soy flavoured ones.

Recommend to pair the saucy fried chicken with the beer as the extra savouriness of the sauce goes well with the sweetness of the beer. Definitely one of my guilty pleasures.

I felt kimchi pancake was too oily and wasnt crispy enough. Wouldn't recommend it. Overall, this place is good for cheap beer and fried chicken experience.

If you are looking for a place to have a nice lunch and chill in Taman Pelangi area, then this cafe is the one for you. Strongly recommend their triple cheese pizza, which crust is incredibly thin like paper, but the cheese and honey provides a sweet and savoury combo, which is so underated. Good for anyone who can not handle thick pizza crust.

Their pulled chicken wrap was bussin, which has a subtle curry flavour, and the tamago was thicccc. Their tacos were a bit more on the expensive side, but I love the herbs and guacamole, which adds a refreshing touch to the smoked salmon.

Dessert wise, they are known for their flaming brownie, which was mostly theatrics and wished the brownie could be denser and more chocolaty. It felt more like a sponge cake than a brownie. Their tiramisu was not bad, nothing too exceptional. I ordered an ice blended aoarashi matcha, which was quite sweet with only a slight taste of matcha. If you like an alternative to dessert, you may opt for this drink.

If you are crossing the border early in the morning and looking for a breakfast spot, Roast & Coffee opens at 7am and sells super sinful and addictive SG/MY cusine. My personal favourite is the salted egg chicken kampung fried rice and salted egg french toast. It may be quite jelak for some but I love the savouriness mixed together with some spiciness of the kampung fried rice!!

For those looking for something lighter and soothing, the Madam J seafood white bee hoon is a good option. The soup was very milky and but not as strong in flavour as I thought but are generous in the fillings, especially with 3 big prawns.

Solid alternative would be the laksa which I tried previously but did not manage to take a picture. The kaya butter toast would go well with soft boiled eggs and defintiely much cheaper than the ones in SG. Total damage for all of these and 3 drinks was only RM 66!!

Fully booked is a cafe which serves Singaporean cusine, ranging from your traditional kaya toast, to mee siam and unique local flavours such as curry chee chong fun! If you like a nice cafe vibe and are sick of the usual pastas/western meals that cafe serve, fully booked is the place to go.

I was impressed by their curry chee chong fan which was a blast! The curry was so aromatic and flavourful that it makes you want to lick it clean. It comes together with a nice serving of good mix of lean and fatty roasted pork and char siew.

Their nasi lemak are pretty standard and their rendang chicken was tender. The rendang chicken came together with a flavourful chicken soup. The iced drinks are $1.5 if you order with a main or else it will be near $4 ala carte. Their kopi float was very sweet, a bit too sweet for me, will definitely stick to my usual kopi c kosong. Will definitely come back again for their curry CCF!!!

Hidden away in a corner of Bishan ActiveSG Sports Hall lies a hole in the wall cafe that has some hidden gems. My personal favourite is the fried chicken and waffle. The waffle soaks up the maple syrup nicely (similar to mcgriddle) and the chicken is both crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Highly recommend!

The grilled free range chicken is a good alternative if you are not looking for something sweet and just savory, It's a solid protein option and is very well seasoned. Good for those who are looking to lose weight ;)

The other shocking find was their signature iced coffee. The drink is carbonated which gives a very refreshing kick and the cream on top is not too sweet which balances well with the coffee, Will be such an apt drink to get after a working out at the stadium!

If you have a sweet tooth, you may want to opt for the milk shakes which came in all sorts of flavours. The rest of the items are nothing too special and quite standard. If you stay nearby you can definitely visit here since it is walking distance from Bishan MRT and a good meal after a tiring exercise session!

13 units is a Hong Kong inspired cafe centred around HK favourite past time - Mahjong! Apart from the theme, the food is not one to be underestimated. They serve both small bites (dum sum) and filling meals. My recommendation would be the bolo bun with double butter as the crispiness of the bolo goes incredibly well with the savoury thickkk slabs of butter. Will leave u guilty afterwards.๐Ÿฅต

Another top favourite would be the charsiew rice and the fired pork belly. They are definitely not sleeping on the meat as the portions were super generous. Keijometo is a popular cafe which has a very industrial design but the food and drinks are BUSSIN. My top favourite is the tempura saba fish don which comes with cabbage, onsen egg on rice. The fish is thick, fluffy on the inside and definitely not dry. After breaking the egg and mixing with the rice, the meal is truly a savoury one. You can opt for the sando mentaiko tamagoyaki for a lighter meal. The mentaiko for both the salmon don and sando is given generously and is torched thoroughly, giving that nice aburi flavour.

Definitely dont sleep on the drinks as my top favourite is the osmanthus matcha iced latte which has a nice balance of matcha flavour with flowery notes. If you prefer something sweeter, you may opt for rose matcha iced latte which has a similar taste to bandung.

Overall is on a pricier side for a cafe in malaysia but is much cheaper than cafes in Singapore. Would come here again!

If you have heard of the Halal Guys in New York City, Overrice is the Singapore version. They serve various rice bowls with their signature white sauce that has a bit of yogurt that complements their sambal chili (silent and deadly). Their basmati rice was very fluffy and the meat was tender. If you are having this for lunch, you might have a food coma from how delicious it is. Their falafel are balls of chickpeas deep fried to give you a hard and crispy exterior. It's my first time trying and I really love the texture it gives you.

If you are not a rice person, their ayam percik tacos are to die for!!! Two tacos for $14 may be expensive for most, but they dont skim on the meat in the tacos. The sauce makes the taco extra savoury and is so moist from the way it is cooked by basting. It's one of the best halal certified places I've been to.

The hokkien mee cost $8 for their signature and $10 for their deluxe which includes scallops. The signature is good enough with a sizeable portion and a hint of wok hei (wished there could be more). Their prawn noodles cost $6 for the signature and $8 for the deluxe. Broth is good and rich but not too salty. They sell fried rice too but is not their speciality. Do try them out if you are in the area for a decent plate of hokkien mee.

Their broth is not too salty, unlike others, which leave you gasping for water. The char siew is nicely roasted with the fatty part melting in your mouth instantly. Noodles are thicky and springy, excellent for slurping down. Portion is just nice and doesn't leave you in a comatose state.

They are known for their buns especially their Gua Bao and Crispy Chicken Bun (CCB) each cost $7.9++ which is Thicccc and justifiable for their price. Their Salted Egg Bun is pricer at $13.9++ but the prawns are massive and not too gelat!

Their XO Fried Rice ($11.9++) is well done with oil coating the grains of rice individually. However, the portion is not huge, so do get some sides with it too. If you are looking for a more filling alternative, go for their noodles such as the Dark-plings noodles ($9.9++) which are pork and shrimp dumplings coated with dark sauce. Extra noodles for $1.9++!! Suika is a very popular Japanese Restaurant in downtown Vancouver where you'll have to book a reservation or else you might have to wait 1-1.5hrs. The sashimi is pretty average and I don't think it is worth the price tag so you may skip it. Their mains are worth as their portions are huge, notably the Double Tonkatsu Set and the Uni Ikura Crab Carbonara (w udon noodles). The tonkatsu has a juicy interior with a nice crust and the carbonara is so savoury which blends well with the slightly sweet ikura.

The desserts are not to sleep on! They are amazing and would strongly recommend them if you still have space especially the matcha brulee cake. Sweetness of the brulee goes amazingly well with the matcha :)

This place was completely empty when we were dinning in (which to some may indicate a red flag) but the food was phenomenal, one of the better asian food I had in Canada and the service was great!

The prices are justified by their huge portions and I particularly liked their marinated chicken and pork which had a nice char and a layer of fat (melt in your mouth) which gives it a really nice texture and flavour.

Sorry for the hiatus in posts. Been busy with my exchange trip in Canada. So the following posts will be my food adventures in Canada.

Located right beside University of Waterloo is an American Diner style restaurant serving your typical American mains. The portion of the fries was huge but wished there was more chicken to the chicken and waffles. The milkshake is on the cheaper side and is as sinful and sweet as you'd expect.

However, I realised Canada's waffles tend to be softer than those in Singapore which is not really my preference but some might prefer that. Overall, not too fantastic but is decent. Do visit if you are nearby.

Secluded in quite an ulu area of Singapore but it has been more accessible recently due to the opening of the new MRT line. They items are on the more expensive end but the quality and portion justifies the price. Would recommend the crispy roast chicken as it is juicy and it's flavour is enhanced with the french onion roasted together with the chicken. The mashed potato at the bottom is so soft and I was scooping the plate to get all the mashed potato.

Dessert wise, the banana butterscotch bundt is served together with a scoop of vanilla ice cream which is very guilty. The banana cake tasted very fresh and moist but it was a struggle after attempting to finish the mains and starter. Would recommend you to go once in a blue moon and you are ready to splurge.
