Recorded a video message for the World Health Organization (WHO) Western Pacific Regional Office, for their virtual meeting of Health Ministers in the Western Pacific Region to “Stand in Solidarity to Combat COVID-19”.

I was invited to share about Singapore’s efforts to fight COVID-19. Singapore will do our part, but it is not our battle alone. COVID-19 is a crisis that requires all countries to fight together. Singapore looks to the WHO to continue providing leadership and coordinate an effective global response. Together, we will overcome this. – LHL

We also pledge our commitment against this virus, promising to do our part in this fight.

Each of us has our role in this battle and each of us will make a difference, but when we come together as one, the result could be limitless.

This is the Singapore spirit.

The island that began as a fishing village, to it's independence in 1965. Singapore has seen transformation after transformation. This is who we are - resilient, adaptive and we grow strength to strength, despite the adversities and obstacles we encounter along the way.

Therefore, during these hard times, let us take heart and reach deep inside ourselves for that Singapore spirit that is in all of us.

And like the sun at the break of dawn, we will rise again.
