On International Women's Day 2023, , Miss Olivia Higgins, would like to share this to remind ourself and also all our fans and friends that this platform stand for women empowerment, and this campaign helps to remind us that we should all work towards creating a more just and equitable world for all by understanding the difference between equity and equality, and advocating for policies and programs that promote gender equity and equality.

While the terms equity and equality are sometimes used interchangeably, they have different meanings and implications.

Equality means treating everyone the same regardless of their individual differences or circumstances.

Equity, on the other hand, acknowledges that different people have different needs and circumstances, and that treating everyone the same may not result in fair outcomes. It involves recognizing and addressing these differences in order to create more equal opportunities and outcomes.

The campaign for gender equity and equality involves initiatives such as policies and programs that address pay disparities, promote women's leadership and representation, and provide resources and support for women who face discrimination or other challenges.

PRELIMINARY NATIONAL COSTUME COMPETITION

Miss Charm Singapore 2023, Olivia Higgins wears an elaborate and beautiful couture National Costume by Frederick Lee Couture for the Miss Charm 2023 competition.

The rich diversity of Singapore’s multi-ethnic landscape and Olivia’s mixed background is represented in this beautifully detailed National Costume. Drawing inspiration from the imperial Chinese roots with design elements of Singapore’s various cultures added in, the costume features a gold threaded cape with a Phoenix motif. This signifies the resilience of our island state, and how Singapore has transformed itself and soared to great heights as a stable and developed financial hub trusted by countries around the world.

Hand-moulded metal jewelry and a bejeweled headpiece befitting of a queen and inspired by Peranakan culture, top off the costume making it a head-turning statement piece.
