Shudder has acquired rights to Orang Ikan, a historical horror film from Buffalo Boys director Mike Wiluan, for release in North America, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. The film, which premiered last year at the Tokyo International Film Festival, blends Malay folklore with WWII history, following a Japanese soldier and British POW who must survive a deadly mythological creature. Produced by Zhao Wei Films, Infinite Studios, and SC Films, Orang Ikan brings a pan-Asian twist to the creature feature genre.
