ANMOPYC Press Tour 2024
Last week, SEAC joined the ANMOPYC international press tour in Spain (organised in collaboration with ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones) to visit a number of locally-based equipment manufacturers with global presence. We took a closer look at their products and technologies, and met the team behind these innovations.
We also had the opportunity to find out about their internationalisation strategies, future plans, as well as challenges and opportunities in today’s construction landscape.
SEAC visited 13 companies offering a variety of products, services and technologies for the global construction market. Here’s a glimpse of the event, which started in Barcelona and ended in Madrid.

Transforming the HS 873 HD crane
Liebherr Transform: Liebherr Construction in Hong Kong has overhauled a 23-year old HS 873 HD duty-cycle crawler crane for China Geo-Engineering Corporation, with an upgrade in the process.
Thanks to the increase in engine power, the strength and versatility of the HS 873 HD was greatly enhanced, making it well prepared for construction sites of today.

One Za’abeel, an iconic landmark in Dubai, has achieved the Guinness World Records title for the ‘Longest Cantilevered Building’ in the world with its panoramic sky concourse, The Link.

SJ Campus, Singapore
SJ Campus: A showcase of engineering marvels
Dubbed ‘Campus in Nature’, Surbana Jurong Group's (SJ) new global headquarters in Singapore covers a built-up area of 1,200,000 sq ft. It can accommodate up to 4,000 onsite employees and the wider community.
The SJ Campus also serves as a strategic centre for collaboration, learning, and a living lab for innovative solutions for the built environment. It was designed by Safdie Architects working with SJ’s architects. The civil and structural engineer for the project was KTP Consultants, a member of SJ.

Kai Tak Sports Park, Hong Kong
‘Pearl of the Orient’: The construction of Kai Tak Sports Park, the largest sports infrastructure project in Hong Kong, has reached another milestone with the completion of its main stadium facade.
Designed with the theme ‘Pearl of the Orient’, the building features a multi-layered facade consisting of approximately 27,000 triangular aluminium panels. The ‘pearlescent’ colours of the facade can change from mountain blue to metallic purple, metallic silver and other colours depending on the brightness of natural daylight.
The project is now in its final stage of construction. The major facilities within the precinct are expected to be completed in phases by the end of 2024 for opening in 2025.

World of Concrete 2024
A quick look at the hustle and bustle of World of Concrete 2024, which recently concluded its 50th anniversary edition. Covering more than 700,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor space, the event drew nearly 60,000 registered professionals – a 23% increase from 2023 – and over 1,400 exhibitors. There were 450 international exhibitors and 325 first-time exhibitors.

Gomaco GT-3600 Hybrid
GOMACO Corporation's new GT-3600 Hybrid made its world debut at the recent #worldofconcrete2024
This hybrid version is currently available on the Xtreme GT-3600 only, which offers an estimated 10-15% fuel savings or more depending on the applications and jobsite conditions.
The prototype machine is powered by a 74-hp (15 kW) engine, 48-V generator/motor, and four (up to six) 7-kWh capacity lithium-ion batteries providing supplementary power when needed.

Giken’s new facility for press-in piling technologies, Japan
A museum of piling machines has opened in Japan, which is believed to be the only one in the world.
Giken recently opened a new facility in Kochi Prefecture, Japan, to showcase its press-in piling technologies. It comprises a demonstration area, the museum of piling machines, a research building and Kochi Factory 3.
The innovative Silent Piler developed by Giken, dubbed the world’s first reaction-based hydraulic pile jacking machine, is capable of installing piles without noise or vibration. The company has been promoting its press-in technologies globally and they are now used in over 40 countries and regions.
Since its opening in May 2023, this new facility has attracted a significant number of visitors, including government agencies, contractors, users and shareholders. A tour of the facility is also available, and bookings can be made through the website.

Eurotec is now Lintec: As part of Lintec & Linnhoff’s continuing globalisation, the company has announced its strategic decision to consolidate the Eurotec brand into the Lintec brand. Construction of Ningpan-Panzhihua Expressway, China
Construction work on the Ningpan-Panzhihua Expressway in China is currently underway. To deliver the project effectively and accurately, the contractor on the job opted for a combination of the Vögele Super 3000-3i paver, Hamm HC 228 D compactor and Hamm HD 0128V tandem roller from the Wirtgen Group.
