We welcome ’Nuclear Mind’, a new song from Robert Johnson and Punchdrunks, to the world. Nuclear Mind’ has a desolate and post-apocalyptic sound. At the same time it manages to be funky - despite the lack of drums. On this recording Robert Johnson plays all the guitars and Robert’s son, Gordon Presley, contributes on synthesiser.

The Robert Johnson and Punchdrunks of our time are probably the only band playing music in the post-surf rock genre. Or Post Apocalypse Post Surf Rock. For a long time the world’s leading band of its kind.

Solen Skinners ”The Lathering” är den extrema musikens piggaste nykomling.

Nu kommer Solen Skinner med sitt debutalbum ”The Lathering”. Skivan för oss rakt ned i helvetet och visar att det finns hopp för upplevelser i den extrema kulturens ytterkanter.

Den finska trion Solen Skinner är lika mycket en performancegrupp som ett band. Var gränserna går är inte så viktigt, och själva grejen med Solen Skinner är kanske att de upplöser gränser. Kön, person, genre, artist, publik. Inget spelar någon roll och allt spelar roll.

Konstellationen Solen Skinner är relativt ung. När de spelade på Norbergfestivalen 2023 var de ännu i sin linda. Ändå framstod deras föreställning, i ett nära nog nedsläckt industriminne, som oerhört färdig. Det är kanske löjligt att börja jämföra band idag med industripionjärer som Throbbing Gristle, men Solen Skinner har hittat dit – till samma kärna.

Det vackra och det spröda lurar in dig i deras garn, det brutala slår dig till marken när du slappnat av som mest. Och vem t***n är det som börjar väsa där i slutet av ”A Drop Falling”? Är det hin håle själve som tittar fram ur gruvhålet? ”The Lathering” är ett vittnesmål om något stort som hände i Krossverket den 7 juli 2023. Något som gjorde att alla som var där till slt skrek i lycklig extas.
