Rest in Peace 😢 Christian Moos

I can't really describe how surreal it felt to write these words.

Me and Eva are devastated by the news of his sudden passing.

Our condolences to his family and friends.

My first Moos encounter with was in 2000, as the drummer of Everon.
Their first 4 albums are incredibly good progressive metal.

Some of the moments on their "Fantasma" record are as good as it gets!

Christian was a great engineer and an excellent drummer.
We did a few projects together, Thanatos and Pestilence comes to mind, but there were some more.

In 2011, me and Eva visited Backstage in Oedt/Grefrath to find out if there would be a room for me to work in once I moved to Germany.

We ended up in Moos' SpaceLab Studio and he mentioned that he was splitting his live room in half, and I could rent the other half!

I moved in a few months later and unfortunately the wall the owner had built did not block enough bass frequencies to leak through to my room when Moos had live bands in the studio, so I only stayed there for a few hours, before I moved to another part of the big rehearsal room/studio complex.

Since both Me and Moos were pretty much the only ones that was there "office hours" we would bump into each other in the lobby sometimes and talk about gear and the good ol' days and slowly get to know each other a bit better.

Some years later I needed to access some old Atari floppy discs and I asked Moos if he knew any one and his reply was "I still have a few!!"
He had boxes full of different Atari’s and one of them was their flagship model, with a hard drive and all!
With his help I was able to get to the MIDI I needed(and he kept helping me with "anything Cubase on Atari" up until sometime around 2020

Christian also baked and transferred the 2" master tapes for the EOS re-issue campaign and taught me everything I know about baking analogue tapes.

He also got me in touch with master Eroc, that transferred the analogue 1/4" and 1/2" master tapes for the EOS re-issues.

Save travels Christian, and I hope you get to meet Peart and Bonham up there in heaven! We will miss you down here. You were a fantastic human being!

Had an awesome day with meine mädels in Ronda (Malaga) today. Had the best chocolate and after eight ice-cream ever (seriously!!!) And saw some crazy depths and heights that sadly looks like someone's backyard in 2D was such a might and a bot scary sight in reality!!

It's that time of year again! 2023 have been perhaps the business year ever for Unisound. As some of you might know, I was in a band called GHOST once, and today, the 13th of December it is exactly 40 years since we formed. I suggested to Anders that we make a more ambient version of it and use an old TR-606 drum machine track that my brother Dag recorded for an unused CP-70 based version of "Dödens Dimma" in the mid 80's and give it a bit of the vibe that the song "Bergets Makt" have on the "Hollywood" demo, and he agreed! I dusted off the pipes and sang in Swedish for the first time in around 20 years (when Dag and I re-recorded "Tills Stormen är Över" for our mother) I created a "bed" of the classic pad sound from the Roland JX10P and sent it over to Anders and he wrote and recorded the most fantastic acoustic guitar parts and recorded some organ and vibraphone from the very same keyboard that the song was originally written on 40 years ago. They do build quality stuff, them Yamaha dudes!! And while I started digging for photographs to use in the video I also found old rehearsal tapes and I remember that there were some funny moments on the really early ones, like the sound we made when we heard a delay on our vocal mikes for the first time, or when we pretended to be our own audience!! But the first "chanting" sound, which is heavily effected as if to "wash over you" is the audience chanting "We want Ghost" We want Ghost!" from one of our two gigs in the gymhall at my school in 1985. Then there's the occasional "Kör då!!" ("Get going..") from Dag, when we spent too much time goofing around between the takes!!

I hope you all like this new version.

I think it turned out fantastic, despite the facts that it's only three chords!

Now, which track will we do for our 50th?? We still have some time to think about it ;)
