Nils Berg Cinemascope :plays Religion is a cinematographic and musical road trip through the Indian part of Punjab. Nils Berg found a clip on YouTube, of a man by a river singing beautiful improvised songs in the most mesmerizing way. Nils couldn’t let go of the idea to go and find him. Laddi Balwinder Singh, that is his name, doesn’t have an email address or phone number so the task to go and find him in the world’s largest country would not be easy, but Nils hooked up with a film maker and made a try.

This journey is now a 75 min performance with video and four musicians on stage, as well as an double album with new music, partly based on field recordings of musicians and singers that Nils and his crew met on the journey.
