Representing FalastinVision in Uppsala today and yesterday. We are here in support of Uppsala Academics for Palestine. They have been here all week where they established the Free University of Gaza - Campus Uppsala.

We where there to offer our support and today some much needed power supply so they can keep supplies cold and to also be able have a view an educationl film on their TV. Hearing about their reactions to our show last Saturday has been uplifting and amazing.

They though FalastinVision and the stream was amazing and some had seen the stream and voted. And they are really looking forward to next year!

We told them to use FalastinVision music in support of the struggle since that's how we wrote the agreement with the participating artists.

76 years have passed since the Al Nakba, the great catastrophe when around 750,000 Palestinians were displaced and forced into exile, and over 450 villages were razed to the ground or taken over by the military forces that would become the Israeli army. Israel has since denied those displaced the right to return. Today, millions of Palestinians still live in refugee camps around the world, and the displacement continues.

THANK YOU each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts for contributing to the wonderful success of the first ever Falastinvision Song Contest 2024! We have in only 3 months reached beyond our wildest dreams and put Palestine and Gaza in the spotlight!

We want to start by thanking every team member and volunteer who have worked incredibly hard day and night pitching in and taking free time from work, family and social life to create the contest.

We want to thank our near and dear ones who put up with us and supported us in the team throughout this crazy journey!

We want to say a massive thank you to all the amazing artists who joined the competition with their beautiful music! You are the heart and soul of FalastinVision!

We also want to thank fantastic team who made us the honor to perform live, Husse & Nellie for premiering their beautiful song, for sharing your powerful story and our own superstar Bashar Murad - بشار مراد for making the evening absolutely magical!

We also want to say a massive thank you to Carlo and the staff at Plan B - malmö who donated the space to support Palestine and helped us immensely in putting on the amazing live show that it became!

We want to thank our own starhost Andreas who did an amazing job guiding our audience though what has now become a new concept - ’grassroot glitches'!

As an alternative to the Eurovision Song Contest we've established FalastinVision - The Genocide Free Song Contest. Through music and culture we're creating an international platform to express solidarity with Palestine and Gaza, advocating for justice, peace, and liberation.

We're a grassroots movement led by human rights activists who started this journey in February. Despite starting from scratch, we've rapidly expanded and now have the attention of international media.

The first round of voting is done, and we now have our 15 finalists ready for the 11th of May.

Seeing as our contestants have been participating from all over the world and the finalists are from eight different countries they will be competing from remote in the final. That means that they will not have a live performance but compete with a prerecorded video, as they did in this first round of voting. They have the opportunity to update their video as long as the song and lyrics are the same.

The performance group Moria has had to cancel their live performance in the FalastinVision final because of the situation in Rafah. Members of the performance group have family members in Gaza right now and are understandably very much affected by Israel’s invasion in Rafah.

FalastinVision is the Genocide Free Song Contest in solidarity with Palestine. An alternative for anyone who are boycotting Eurovision because of their complicity in genocide by letting Israel compete.

Some of the live acts will be Palestinian popstar Bashar Murad, performancegroup Moria and DJ duo BLNDNS (Blannedans), and more to be announced. The finalists of FalastinVision will also be streamed from all over the world and you'll see at least one surprise guest.
