KTH for Palestine har överlämnat ett upprop till Anders Söderholm, rektor på KTH, för att uppmana universitetet att bryta alla samarbeten med israeliska universitet och företag kopplade till den israeliska militärindustrin, och att fördöma Israels massaker på palestinier och uttrycka solidaritet med det palestinska folket.

KTH for Palestine has handed a petition to Anders Söderholm, rector at KTH, demanding that KTH ends all collaborations with Israeli universities and companies with ties to the Israeli military industry, and to condemn Israel’s massacre of Palestinians and express solidarity with the Palestinian people.

I strävan efter en mer inkluderande och jämlik akademisk miljö har KTH sedan 1999 årligen delat ut ett jämställdhets- och mångfaldspris. Detta pris, vilket inkluderar en summa av 10 000 kronor, är inte bara en monetär belöning utan också ett erkännande av de insatser som individer inom KTH gjort för att främja dessa grundläggande värderingar. I år delades priset ut av prorektorn i samband med Diplomutdelningen i Stockholms Stadshus den 20 december 2023.

På måndagen den 29e januari samlades närmare 75 studenter vid KTH för att välkomna Nooshi Dadgostar, partiledare för Vänsterpartiet. Under besöket diskuterades en mängd pressande samhällsfrågor där Nooshi delade med sig av Vänsterpartiets ståndpunkter och framtidsvisioner.

These are some of the most fascinating questions that mankind has struggled with for a long time. Today, we have scientific explanations as to how the universe came to be, but looking several centuries back, we uncover an interesting pattern: A lot of ancient mythologies have a very similar origin story: the story of how everything came to be, the story of how this universe was created.

Farväl campus Kista och Södertälje! Efter många om och men är nu ett inriktningsbeslut taget av universitetsstyrelsen. Men mycket är fortfarande uppe i luften och studenterna ute i Kista och Södertälje har nu en osäker framtid framför sig. Är detta en chans att utveckla utbildningen eller en katastrof i slow motion? Och hur kommer detta påverka resten av studenterna på KTH?

Campusflytten: detta är det du behöver veta

- Universitetsstyrelsen har beslutat att flytta verksamheten från Kista och Södertälje till andra campus. Merparten av verksamheten kommer att flyttas till Valhallavägen. Flytten kommer vara färdig 2027.

- Den huvudsakliga motivationen bakom beslutet är KTH:s ekonomiska situation som Osqledaren har tidigare rapporterat om.

- I dagsläget har vi få konkreta detaljer om hur flytten kommer gå till. I beslutet framgår det att en detaljerad plan för flytten ska presenteras för styrelsen i februari.

- Processen inför beslutet har fått kritik för att ha varit icketransparent. Det beslutsunderlag som universitetsstyrelsen fick inför sitt sammanträde publicerades inte inför beslutet.

- Studentrepresentanter deltog i arbetet inför beslutet men fick inte vara med när skolorna tog fram universitetsstyrelsens slutgiltiga beslutsunderlag. Däremot fick THS skicka in en bilaga till sammanträdet.

- Studentrepresentanterna i universitetsstyrelsen röstade för förslaget att flytta verksamheten från Södertälje och Kista. De villkorade sina röster med en kravlista, som THS offentliggjorde den 22 november.

- Beslutet kommer göra huvudcampuset ännu trängre. På KTH:s intranät framgår det att 200 självstudieplatser ska behöva tillkomma på grund av inflödet av Södertäljestudenter. I Kista kommer 570 självstudieplatser försvinna.

Farewell Kista and Södertälje campuses! After many ifs and buts, the university board has decided. But much is still up in the air, and the students out in Kista and Södertälje now have an uncertain future ahead of them. Is this a chance to develop education or a disaster in slow motion? And how will this affect the rest of the students at KTH?

Campus Move: This is what you need to know

- The University Board has decided to move operations from Kista and Södertälje to other campuses. Most of the business will be moved to Valhallavägen. The move will be completed in 2027.

- The main motivation behind the decision is KTH's financial situation, which Osqlederen has previously reported on.

- At present, we have few concrete details about how the move will take place. The decision states that a detailed plan for the move must be presented to the board in February.

- The decision process has been criticized for being non-transparent. The decision document that the university board received before its meeting was not published before the decision.

- Student representatives participated in the decision-making but were not invited when the schools received the university board's final decision documents. However, THS sent an appendix to the meeting.

- The student representatives on the university board voted for the proposal to move the operations from Södertälje and Kista. They conditioned their votes with a list of demands, which THS published on November 22.

- The decision will make the main campus even more crowded. In KTH's intranet, it appears that 200 additional self-study places will be needed due to the influx of Södertälje students. In Kista, 570 self-study places will disappear.

Coming to a new country, you're the odd one out. I've been in school in four countries and compare myself to the "locals" every time. There is a massive impact of cultural comparison on mental health and self-confidence. This is my perspective and why I think being yourself can feel bad sometimes.

Many things impact you when you study abroad, and people keep talking about how much it changed them and what a great experience it was. However, I will not focus too much on the details of my exchange. You have all heard the cliches of how it is the experience of a lifetime, how you will meet many new friends, and so on. While this is all true, I want to focus more on something that, in my experience, people don’t mention as much. I do not feel like I hear much about the experience of returning home to your old routines and life as you knew it, but with new friends and new memories.
