There are these small things I pick up in life and keep.
Small tokens of appreciation to places & people in my life.
Like this taco clip.
It’s hard to beat a good baja-style taco.
It’s one of my top three favorite things to eat.
So naturally, I almost fell off my chair out of cute shock when I got the check at a taco place in La Jolla, San Diego, pinned together by this clip in the shape of a taco.
I was rounding off yet another amazing day with my best friend Cassidy, 2023 had barely began, and we were driving along the pacific coast to create new memories & visit friends.
“Keep it!” Cass says, as I’m caressing the clip with eyes full of admiration.
I look around to find a waiter. I see her approach to settle our bill, and after she’s done I ask if I may keep this adorable little clip.
She says yes, and I remember my smile spread so widely I found myself ridiculous and childish. I blushed and looked down on the ground to hide it.
It’s been over a year. And now, every time I open my current read, I see that taco clip. And I smile as widely as that evening at that Mexican restaurant with my best friend.
Oh, the small things in life.. whichever shape they come in, taco or not. Reminding us of great moments. Aren’t they just incredibly magical? 😍🙏
So, what’s on my agenda?
Well, second image sums it up very nicely. But to go deeper on the rest:
3. Make every day count. Turn the dull moments into joyful ones. (Why haven’t I had a pillow fight in years?!) Community & Friendships - keep nurturing them because they are crucial for your mental health.
4. Appetite for laughter. Laugh more. Laugh louder. At successes and failures. It’s okey to cry. As long as it ends with a laugh.
5. Do everything in your power to keep that fire inside you lit. Throw some gas on it! Make Aura bigger and better.
6. Commemorate, document & share. You never know who might see it, and get inspired. If it so is your great grandkids.
7. Love. Dare to fall in love. Dare to give it your all again. But don’t settle to receive anything less than that back.
8. Keep up the game. Bring the girls in the tennis club closer. Play more often. Growth on all levels for each and one of the members.
9. Make more dreams a reality. (South Africa, I’m looking at you, baby. I’m coming for ya..)

I remember the day I took this photo.
Camera in hand, I was strolling around in one of my favorite cities. I’ve always admired the rich architecture of Paris, and so my natural gaze is always above human level as I emerge on my pleasure tours in this amorous city.
Stoping and seeing the street art of you making a peace sign was my catch of the trip. On camera, but also tattooed in my brain.
How do you land funds when you are a one-women-orchestra?
Last month I launched my friends & family round of funding for my startup.
But now I’m finalizing my pitch and meeting with angel investors for bigger bucks.
One of the feedbacks I’ve received from EVERY PROFESSIONAL I’ve spoken to (and there are quite a few of them..) is:
The Team - where is your team? You will never get an investment without a team.
But I can’t afford to hire anyone at this point?
Do you know anyone who wants to give up a safe job to work on my dream for free?
Yes, I can take a loan.
Yes, I can pre-sell (like I am now) larger quantities to resellers.
And those are absolutely my top options and ongoing already.
But I also want to explore my third option: angel investment.
Why? To go to market quicker. Because I’m getting noticed by the big wolfs on the market. And I need to make a roar.
So.
To solve the team-question,
I’ve put together an advisory board of generous and passionate top minds, who are offering their expertise and knowledge to help me grow Aura. 💙
(And if you know me - once I’m there I sure will reimburse this generosity BIG TIME)

1. A person with a long experience, wide knowledge in and great passion for fashion.

And although that might be a problem,
I’m focusing on solving another:
Making more women feel confident to get out on the court.
Because I believe we need more women in tennis.

It’s crazy how much can happen within a year..
My life has never been so dynamic like it has the past year.
Just the fact that I’ve moved 7 times this year makes me laugh.
But I like dynamic. For good and for worse.
The thing I’m mostly grateful for are all my friends who’s added so much value to my life.
Friendship is a cornerstone in my life.
I invest a lot into it.
But this year I have been extremely tired and scattered. Few things has gone like planned. And the end of this year is uncertain again.
Now,
I can choose to get stressed over that. Or,
I can choose to get excited about the magic that can arise from uncertainty.
I wonder which journey I will be on on January 1st - what awaits for me around the corner? How exciting!

This weekend, I’m definitely taking a break from work.. making sure I get salt in my hair, and sand between my toes. How are you spending your weekend?
Today’s behind-the-scenes is a lot more greener than previous days’. Yesterday was a lot of monkey business. Literally. I was woken up by a mob of monkeys throwing and pushing my balcony chairs against my window. Shared my breakfast with them (bananas). Didn’t help. They did the same this morning. 6 a.m. I guess it is now my official alarm clock. 🙄😂 Kept working in the evening after a short pool break. Until the power outage happened. Complete black out. In the jungle. Just sayin’. It was dark. Only lasted for 30 min, thankfully. 🙈
