I hope you're all doing well! 😊
I wanted to share an idea that could help us all address some of the issues we've been experiencing, like system freezes and data corruption restart of the Keyboard , Lose of the Matrix etc After 1.3 os update.
By working together and sharing detailed information about these problems, we can make it easier for the OS developers to understand and fix them. I know dealing with these issues can be frustrating, but by collaborating, we can speed up the process and make things better for everyone.
Here's how we can do it:
1. DOCUMENTING THE PROBLEM
a. Text Description:
Context: Briefly explain what you were doing when the problem occurred.Adding Samples to exsisting KST/To From .Set etc Or Making your changes in 3,rd developer programs PAMANAGER Etc.
Steps to Reproduce: List the steps to make the issue happen again.(If you can)
Expected Behavior: What did you expect to happen?
Actual Behavior: What actually happened, including any error messages on your LCD Display .
Frequency: How often does this issue occur? (Every time, sometimes, randomly?) Or in what situation like Loading saving etc.
b. Screenshots and Videos:
Take screenshots or record a video showing the problem.
Add notes or voiceovers to explain what's happening in the video.
2. GATHERING SYSTEM INFORMATION
OS Version: Which OS version are you using? How you updated your PA5X etc.Where was your exsisting file from(Pa4X Pa 4X oriental Pa1000 Etc.
Logs: Include any relevant system or application logs that show errors or warnings related to the issue.
3. CREATING A CENTRAL REPOSITORY
Platform: Use a shared platform like a forum, GitHub, or a collaborative document where we can all contribute.
For now Here, Or in my FACE BOOK SITE for the PA5X.
Organization: Organize issues by category (e.g., freezing, data corruption) and by priority (e.g., critical, major, minor).
4. COLLABORATING WITH DEVELOPERS
Feedback Loop: Make sure there's a way for developers to ask for more information if needed. Well We can Always Try and Try. Even if they don,t get back sometimes.
Updates: Keep everyone updated on any progress or fixes from the developers. If you solve the problem SHARE IT WITH US ALL.
5. BEING PATIENT AND SUPPORTIVE
Acknowledgment: Understand that fixing these issues takes time and OS development is complex.( I KNOW 2 Years is to much) Im with you all.
Encouragement: A little positive reinforcement and support can really motivate the developers! Let try this method this time!!!
EXAMPLE ISSUE REPORT
ISSUE TITLE: SYSTEM FREEZE WHEN OPENING LARGE FILES
Context:
While working with large Samples/Style files/Set to KST files or editing thingsin the editing software inside the Keyboard(STYLE EDITOR/SOUND EDITOR/PAD RECORD/STYLE COPY/PASTE Etc and more.Editing FX etc/Editing Song list Song Entry and more.
Steps to Reproduce:
Editing Style or editing Song Entry .
Import a Style file or Create A New Style/Pad Import Export etc.
Attempt to play or edit the the style Copy, paste Delete or anything that the Keyboard normaly can do.
Expected Behavior:
The Keyboard should load and play smoothly. IF NOT What happened? How it started/Freeze or Anything.
Actual Behavior:
The system freezes for several times or Just one time, sometimes requiring a reboot or did a style change or exit fixed it?
Frequency:
Occurs every time a style,Pad,Sample,Sound,Song Entry or anythig any file is imported.
Logs:
Attached system log from the time of the freeze if you have any on your screen! if not Try to remember what style you had before the problem, What sound, what bank, or Set library etc, So much information as you just can provide.
