Some choice quotes via @trevornoah @thedailyshow ➡️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Society is a contract that we sign as human beings amongst each other. We sign a contract with each other as people, whether it’s spoken or unspoken and we say—among this group of us—we agree in common rules, common ideals, and common practices that are going to define us as a group.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“And then, some members of that society—mainly Black American people—watch time and time again how the contract that they have signed with society, is not being honored by the society that has forced them to sign it with them.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“When Colin Kaepernick kneels, they say this is not the right way to protest. When Martin Luther King had children as part of his protests in Birmingham, Alabama, people said having children as your protest is not the right way to do things. When he marched in Selma, people said this is not the right way to do things. When people march through the streets in South Africa during apartheid, they said this is not the right way to do things. When people burn things they say it’s not—it’s never the right way ‘cause there’s never a right way to protest… because that’s what protest is. It cannot be right because you are protesting against a thing that is stopping you.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“I think what a lot of people don’t realize is the same way you might have experienced even more anger and even more just visceral disdain watching people loot that Target, try to imagine how it must feel for Black Americans when they watch themselves being looted every single day. Because that’s fundamentally what’s happening in America. Police in America are looting Black bodies.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“To anyone who watched that video, don’t ask yourself if it’s right or wrong to loot. Don’t ask yourself “why does looting help? Ask yourself why it got to you that much more w

We asked some Alma members what creative projects they have been working on during lockdown. We raise a hand for @judithwolst @aurorebelfrage & @imanzaghw who just launched their new exciting project @SusTechable 💫
“In times of Covid19, now more than ever we still need to raise questions about tech, sustainability and the future.
Transitioning to a sustainable society is top or high on most people's agenda today. Corporates, economists, politicians, kids you name it, we know WHY, but figuring out and implementing the HOW is complex…. multilayered… expensive… time consuming. We can’t think our way through this one, we need to work together and act, iterate, think, act again, tweek. We at Sustechable want to contribute; technology has an obvious role to play in this complex transition, but it’s by no mean the only piece of the puzzle. Here you’ll see and read about interesting tech, meet entrepreneurs, tune in to panel discussions and hopefully you want to join in and help us all to connect the dots between ideas and mission and results.”
Today we visit Kristian Julius at Svenskt Tenn, the interior design store located in Stockholm.
Founded in 1924 by Estrid Ericson, an art teacher and pewter artist from Hjo, Sweden, Svensk Tenn is perhaps best known for its many designs by Josef Frank. His bold, organic textiles are found in many sofas around the world.
ON THE GO is an interview series from Alma, hosted by Fredrik Carlström, and filmed and edited by Martin Jenefeldt.

Alma around the world: We asked our good friend @philoudarblay , TV host, foodie, Parisienne and membership manager for Soho House CWH Stockholm and Paris to share one of her famous bread recipes. Enjoy. ✨
Ingredients:
130g sunflower seeds
90g flax seeds
65g hazelnuts or almonds
145g rolled oats (gluten-free for intolerances)
15g pumpkin seeds (optional)
50g dried cranberries or raisins (optional)
2 tablespoons chia seeds
3.5 tablespoons of powdered psyllium
1.5 teaspoon coarse salt
1 tablespoon maple syrup (or stevia for sugar-free diets)
3 teaspoons melted coconut or olive oil if you don't have
350 ml of water (adaptable)
Preparation:
Toast hazelnuts, then sunflower seeds in the oven.
In a bowl mix all the dry ingredients.
In another bowl whisk the liquids (maple syrup, oil, water). Add the liquid mixture to the dry mixture, mix until everything is soaked (add a little water if the dough is too difficult to stir, but it will be compact in any case). Transfer to a silicone mold or solid mold with parchment paper, smooth the top with a spoon. Let it stand at room temperature from 2 to 24 hours.
Preheat the oven to 175 ° C. Bake for 20 minutes, remove from the pan, bake in the other side for 30-40 minutes. The bread is ready when it sounds hollow when you tap it. Do not cut before total cooling.
In this second episode of ON THE GO, we visit The Stockholm Public Library. Opened in 1928 and designed by Swedish architect Gunnar Asplund, it’s one of the city's most notable structures and one of Asplund's most important works. It illustrates his gradual shift from classicism to functionalism.
