Women in Film & Television International (WIFTI) has teamed up with the global post-production company Chimney to make a “gender incentive” for change - 10 % for 50/50 - where production companies get a 10% discount if the production is gender balanced*.
10% for 50/50 invites facility houses, production and post-production companies, and other providers in the film and TV industry, all over the world, to join this movement.
The initiative will be launched in Sweden on February 1st at the Gothenburg International Film Festival, and internationally on February 9th at the Berlinale International Film Festival. However, Dagsljus (S), Maan Rental (DK), Post Control (FI), Dramatify (S) and The Line (S) are a few of the companies that have already now joined the movement.
Today there are around 50 WIFT- and WIFT-like networks on six continents, all working towards the same goal - gender equality in the film and TV industry. WIFTI is a global organisation that connects these networks to have one common voice.
