Dags att tipsa!
Denna gång om ANDREAS MATTSSON och MANKKU.
1992, vilket satans svenskt (läs norrländskt) popår! Älskade Aquanatic med Wannadies, tyckte kanske att TPD-skivtiteln Rubber Soul var ett, erm, märkligt val men gillade plattan. Och så Popsicle. Jag vet inte varför men jag var lite tveksam vid första genomlyssningen tillsammans med Daniel Björklund hemma hos mina föräldrar. Men det gick snabbt över såklart. När de sen kom och spelade på Smedjan i Köping med två Rickenbackergitarrer och Piggy in the Middle (med Peter Jacobsson Morén, Gustaf Hielm m fl) som förband så var ju saken klar :). Långt senare, strax före Popsicles återföreningsgig på Cirkus fick jag, ovan nämnde Danne, Filip Löfström, Anders Thorell och kanske någon mer spela popsiclelåtar live på Mondo med 3/4 av Popsicle i publiken. Lite nervöst asså... men vi fick biljetter till Cirkus i varje fall av Andreas, vilket får anses vara ett av de bättre gager jag fått, åtminstone känslomässigt :). Man kan berätta sida upp och sida ner om Andreas Mattsson och all finfin musik han gjort de senaste drygt 30 åren men vi stoppar där med en uppmaning att komma och lyssna på Ekermanska 16 augusti.

It's the talk of the town - as it should be!
For me the song felt like an instant DM classic, like a song that's always been there, you know? Captures the core essence of the band and I find was a beautiful homage to Andrew Fletcher who was a renowned chess player with a tip of the hat to Bergmans iconic scene, the game of chess with Death - cleverly shot by the genius that is Anton Corbijn.
What are your thoughts? Yay or nay?
