✨ Happy Diwali! ✨

Given our Indian heritage, we in Sweden sometimes enjoy celebrating Indian holidays simultaneously with our Indian colleagues. Diwali is a festival that we always want to highlight.

Diwali is a reminder of light overcoming darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. It is also a very colourful day. In Sweden, we had some great Indian food for lunch, while our team in Mumbai celebrated with flower decorations and a dinner out. 🌺

Are you ready for Halloween? If not, get prepared with our developer and Halloween-obsessed colleague, Marcin. Here are some of his best office ideas.

More is more 👻
– The easiest way to bring Halloween vibes to the office is with a small display area packed with decorations in a high-traffic spot, like the kitchen. Depending on the lighting at the office, you could go for a lot of Halloween lanterns with tea lights or take the opposite approach with just a few pumpkins and other decor. Plastic or real autumn leaves scattered over a countertop can also make a big difference.

Don’t forget the walls! 🕷️
– Walls are easy to decorate but often overlooked. You could add spooky signs hanging from hooks, clear wall vases with eyeballs and spiders, classic spider webs, LED light strings, or my favourite: window stickers with creepy designs for mirrors, windows, or walls, using some carefully placed adhesive.

Let there be light (and darkness) 🕯️
– As we move into darker months, cosy lighting is especially appreciated. Instead of turning on all the super-bright lights, scatter tea lights around the office to create a warm atmosphere without dimming the overall light too much.

“I learn something new every day”

Then, Project Manager. Now, Client Director. Always open to learning new things. This is Annika Alvring, who has been with Bombayworks' Stockholm office for nearly five years.
- I came from a larger digital agency, working with the real estate sector and the public sector, including helping build the Swedish Parliament’s previous website.

How did you end up working for Bombayworks?
- I was invited for an interview and thought, why not?

Why did you decide to change jobs?
- I experienced significant leadership issues at all my previous workplaces, which affected the company culture. At Bombayworks, there are good processes in the work with clients and how the company supports its employees. There’s continuous follow-up with staff. During the interview, I realised something was different here, which convinced me to make the switch. I’ve never regretted it.

What’s the best part of Bombayworks?
- Besides employee well-being follow-up, all colleagues here are not only competent but also kind. Everyone is treated equally, regardless of title.

What have you learned since starting here?
- Lots. I learn something from my colleagues daily, big or small. I’ve also learned a lot from our clients. Working with big clients has deepened my understanding of complexity and decision-making in large organisations.

What has inspired you recently?
- Naturally, being recognised as Agency of the Year for the past two years. But also, that we’ve started talking more about all the excellent work we do.

We’ve just wrapped up a kick-off in Malmö where we’ve celebrated being back together after a long Swedish summer. We had some really good food and drink and feel ready to face the challenges of the future with renewed energy and stronger teamwork.

💞 Pink October means Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💞

In Sweden, free breast cancer screening is offered to all women. In India, the situation is different. So, as part of our wellness initiative, we brought an expert to our Mumbai office. Dr. Garvit Chitkara is a renowned breast cancer and oncology surgeon. His session was very insightful, covering everything from spotting early signs and symptoms to self-screening and how simple lifestyle changes can reduce risk. After Dr Garvit Chitkaras's information, we had a productive Q&A; we discussed chemo, fertility, radiation, and staying active.

Altogether, we had an informative and supportive day together. 🫶🏾

✨ Key takeaways from SEO Vibes on Tour ✨

Our team just returned from SEO Vibes on Tour, and we’ve got some exciting takeaways to share! First, AI is making waves, but remember - while it’s great to streamline your processes, never forget who you’re really optimising for: humans (we’re not there yet with robot customers). 🤖

The interplay between UX, conversion, and SEO will continue to be crucial for achieving high visibility on Google. Another key takeaway is that entity optimisation is becoming increasingly important as search engines focus more on understanding context and relationships between entities than individual keywords.

Experimentation is a fun part that continues to be really important. Play around with new approaches, test, tweak, and refine. Growth is all about finding what works and improving from there. 💡

A refreshing conference
Who knew artificial intelligence, saunas, and swimming could share a connection? At the annual Bombayworks conference, that's exactly what brought us together.

This year, our Swedish teams in Malmö and Stockholm ventured to the beautiful Ästad Vineyard outside Falkenberg. We delved into the exciting world of AI - exploring how it can help our clients and how we leverage it internally.

After productive discussions, we took a well-deserved dip into the spa. And what a spa - Ästad Vineyard is amazing. We enjoyed, among other things, an under-the-water sauna and an organic pond. A great place to recharge for work ahead.

The conference left us feeling inspired, motivated, and – of course – thoroughly relaxed. We're eager to implement all the emerging great ideas and continue making a splash with AI solutions.

Every voice counts!

On Monday, the Lok Sabha elections took place in Maharashtra, India. The state government announced that organisations should give their employees a full day paid holiday to exercise their right to vote, and we at Bombayworks made sure to do our part. The Mumbai team had a day off to exercise their civic duty, and we are proud to support this initiative, reflecting our commitment to corporate responsibility. Our team, of course, voted! This reflects a key part of our broader diversity and inclusion strategy, ensuring every voice is heard and valued.
