Hi Lady A,
We are overjoyed that you are coming to Sweden again, welcome back!
-Thank you. Sweden is one of my favorite countries to perform in.

For those who still don't know you, please tell us about yourself!
-I am Lady A, a Blues, Soul, Funk Gospel artist, songwriter, producer and storyteller.
I’ve been performing for 20+ years and infuse education, storytelling and encouragement thru music.

Why do you call yourself ”The real Lady A”?
-I had to go thru a dispute with a country band (Antebellum) for 2 1/2 years over them changing their name to Lady A, when I had already been performing as Lady A before they were born. We settled out of court and both use the name, However, their performative act of changing their name to show themselves allies to the Black community failed. Therefore I tag my original name as

The last time you were in Sweden, you performed with your sisters Terrie Odabi and Annika Chambers in the show American Ladies in the House. This time you will get to own the stage all by yourself! Do you have any newly written material for us?
-I will be performing a few new songs from my current CD “Just Bein Me”, so be on the look out!

Speaking of American Ladies in the House. That is a collaboration between you and From the soul.
Tell us about your future work with that project.
-American Ladies Tour was amazing and showcased Black women performing together on stage. I am working with our producer Erik Pettersson on future festivals in the states for 2025 as he works the European aspects. This is a collaboration of Black Female artists that allows us to show sisterhood and solidarity, as Producers and festivals often fail to hire more than (1) Black female artists or sometimes none for their events, as they do our white female counterparts. American Ladies shows just how valuable we are as performers .

What strikes me when you perform is your amazing energy and joy, how is it possible to bring that upon stage every time?
-im always thinking of my audience and how i want them to leave different than when they had arrived. Hopefully inspired and encouraged, with a smile on their face understanding that they can turn around an inspire and encourage someone else in their daily lives. We all have that energy within
