We wanted a way to make the world feel more interconnected much like the metroidvanias/souls likes out there. We decided to use the basements/cellars/sewers as a way to navigate the map less expected ways.

A sewers entrance could end up leading to an exit on the other side of town, saving you time and dangerous encounters. Sewers won't exactly be safe either.
