- Swedens Hard Techno Elite
- Multifunctional, oldschool DJ
- The rave dad of Swedish Rave Society
The passion for electronic music started as a young teenager in the early 90s when L.A Styles "James Brown is dead" hit the radio. For years to come I was a dedicated collector of CD-series like Techno Trax, Thunderdome, Goa Head, Rave Mission, Destination Goa, Acid Flash and Ravermeister. BIG INFLU
ENCES
For many years the Swedish radiotalker and DJ Calle Dernulf hosted the show P3 Dans on Wednesdays, presenting new club music. On Fridays the supertalented DJ and producer Pierre Jerksten (mainly known as Hertz) hosted his radioshow P3 Mix. I recorded and edited these shows as good as I could on MiniDisc (remember those?), and then copied it to CD-R's. In the summer of ´98 mr Dernulf guested a local club in my hometown, playing techno. One friend wanted recommendations of recordlabels and started to talk with mr Dernulf. In the middle of the conversation, he apologized for one second. We found out he was in the middle of a transition - mixing on vinyl – and wanted to sync them better. In that exact moment I know that I wanted to learn how to mix. So I bought the Denon DN-2500 CD-deck and practiced at home. I played mostly at private parties for a couple of years but lost myself somewhere in 2001. I borrowed my equipment to a friend and got it back a couple of years later. I didn´t have the passion in me at the time. THE COMEBACK
15 years later, during 2016, I made my comeback to DJ´ing, starting out with a basic Numark Mixdeck Express, just for fun at home. Today I own Pioneer DDJ-1000 with Rekordbox at home. I am still a little bit oldschool, as I do my "effects" with the tone controls, just like in the 90's. You can't learn an old dog to sit, right? My older mixes can be found at Mixcloud, as I from 2020 publish all my mixes exclusively on Soundcloud. I like kind of every genre in electronic music, but top three in mixing are:
- Hard Techno
- UK Hardcore
- Drum´n´Bass
THE LEGENDARY AWESOME-CONCEPT
This was formed in early 2018. I had Barney Stinson on a mixcover and after that I decided it would be cool that every upcoming mix´s name should start with the words Legendary Awesome. RAVE CLASSICS-SERIES
From time to time I do nostalgic mixes with music from the 90´s or early 2000, a time when I was younger and all the music influenced me. Here we can talk about old school techno, classic trance, early psy, hard trance and early hardcore. CLUB CLASSICS-SERIES
Another series with nostalgic mixes. During my younger years, me and my friends partied a lot and hit the clubs on the weekends. Dance club music has also had a big influence on me. I collected lots of CD Maxi-singles, mainly for the remixes. THE NAME
My DJ- name was taken before a photoshoot for the calendar in high school. We were going to make a prank and not use our real names. I found Schnippenkopf by accident on Internet and realised later that it is a mountain in Germany. My first name was Dachri, which means dick in turkey. Yeah, we were young…
GIGS
As Schnippenkopf I have played several times for the local organizers FIFO and Undersound in Örebro, and for other organizers like Monday Bar, Crypt, Ravekommissionen and Skuggborgen. A big moment was the night I played for Monday Bar at Slakthuset. No other than the Swedish DJ-legend Johnny Boy picked out my mix in a contest and wanted to hear me play. Afterwards, he called me Satan with the review: "Sometimes he played darker than Satan himself could have done". SWEDISH RAVE SOCIETY
With this Soundcloud-channel I want to express my passion for this music in a bigger way by letting both upcoming and more known DJ´s and producers get in the spotlight with their mixes. On Wednesdays a new episode is published, so be sure to follow the site!
