During my meeting with President Isaias Afwerki, we discussed the two countries' relations, and I gave him a detailed explanation about the situation in Sudan resulting from the rebellion of the Rapid Support Forces, the political and economic secrets of the war, and the human suffering faced by Sudanese at home and at border crossings with neighboring countries, and we also discussed the initiatives proposed from within the region and countries. And I appreciated the the Eritrean side's clarity of position since the beginning of the Sudan war.
The president of Eritrea informed me that his country stands behind the Sudanese people and that the current initiatives are political bazaars in which Eritrea cannot engage in, knowing that what is happening in Sudan is an internal matter concerning the Sudanese, and that external interference will complicate matters exponentially.
Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki declared that his country is ready to support sudan whenever it’s requested, and that they are backing the unity and sovereignty of Sudan and its land, as well as the Sudanese people, emphasizing that the relationship between the two countries is strategic.
May God protect Sudan and the people of Sudan.
