ALI MEKAWIR BECOMES A PRO FOOTBALLER:

Today marks another mile stone for ROYALS VISION 2050 as we now have our 2nd PROFESSIONAL footballer in Europe and Asia.

Ali Mekawir is now playing for the pro club TFA Dubai FC in Dubai. Mekawir is a product of the academy as he started his football carrier with the academy then later sent to Stars FA to further his studies and exposure in the beautiful game. During his time in the UK, he became Solomon Islands first semipro player in Europe and became the first Solomon Islander to score in the prestigious FA Cup.

Due to ROYALS being denied a place in the TSL as far back as the 2017/18 season and the threat that ROYALS players who dont play in the HFA and TSL clubs cannot be selected for the national teams, Mekawir had to make the decision to join other HFA and TSL clubs at the early stage of his carrier. This prompted his move to join Naha FC in the HFA and later Marist FC in the TSL. However ROYALS always treat him like our player.

After being selected for the national u17 and u20 squads, Mekawir knew that to move into greater heights in his soccer carrier, he had to come back to where he started and upon returning to ROYALS, I gave him the opportunity to travel to England to study and train in a professional football environment with Stars FA. Mekawir stayed with Stars for almost 2 years before returning to Honiara to play with Honiara City FC and Waneagu, all because ROYALS was always denied a place in the TSL again.

Therefore after his colourful player CV helped him got picked by Adelaide United FC, Mekawir was further picked by an agent for a pro trial with the pro club TFA Dubai FC and to date he is still with the club.

Lastly, all glory be to the God of ROYALS for the VISION and for fascilitating it to this stage. All the best young man and continue to make ROYALS, STARS, Langney Wandarers FC, Adelaide United FC, TFA Dubai FC, Naha FC, Marist FC, Honiara City FC, Waneagu FC, siff and your country proud.

TEMOTU BREADFRUIT FLOUR READY TO HIT THE MARKET.

Today the processing facility, Solomon Islands Development Agency (SIDA) annouced the completion of processing, packaging and labelling of flour samples made of breafruits from Temotu.

This was made possible through the partnership between the agency and Hilda Peina.

With SIDA's ongoing R&D on food processing and the successful trials with Banana Flour and Taro flour, the agency decides to try out breadfruit by which the Director contacted Hilda for partnership. The partnership resulted in the supply of first few bags of nambo which eventuated the final breadfruit flour packs now available at SIDA's display room.

Meanwhile, as part of promoting the locally processed items a three days promo will begin tommorow at 10 am to 5pm at the HCC area where display of SIDA products featuring the Breadfruit flour will be put to show.

Speaking to to Eastern Media Pro, Mr Joseph Poha, SIDA's Managing Director said he is happy to forge partnership with Hilda in the processing and commercialisation of breadfruits which are readily available in most of the islands in Temotu. Joseph looks forward to enhancing the paetnership to transform the lives of rural people who will be involved in Nambo preparation and supply to SIDA.
