Goodbye TikTok
Nightfam, it's official. As of January 19, 2025, TikTok has shut down its service in the United States following the Supreme Court's decision.
Here's what's happening:
-The app has been removed from U.S. app stores
-Users are seeing "Sorry, TikTok isn't available right now" messages
- is trending on the internet
-Some users have migrated to another Chinese app, RedNote as protest
But there might be hope on the horizon. President-elect Trump has indicated he may grant a 90-day extension to allow for a potential sale of TikTok's U.S. operations.
The ban stems from national security concerns about ByteDance's potential influence over American users' data and content.
What do you think, Nightfam, should Tiktok have another chance? Or is America better off without it? π€
