A pleasant afternoon to each and everyone of you ✨✨✨

Starting tomorrow (May 5, 2023) the Agribusiness Development Center (ADC) located at the Department of Agriculture, Elliptical Road, Diliman, Quezon City, will be selling Nueva Ecija Rice for only Php25/kg!!

You may grab yours every Monday-Friday at 7am until supplies last. There will be a limit of 3kg rice per person as stocks are limited per day.

What are you waiting for? Visit us as early as you can! Long lines will be expected.

Up close and personal with Hurnea Zebrina

​​Common Name: Lifesaver Plant (other common names: Little Owl Eyes, Owl Eyes, Zebra-stripped Huernia, Huernia, Ceropegia Species)
Scientific Name: Huernia zebrina
Family Name: Apocynaceae
Origin: Southern and East Africa to Arabia
Height: under 6”

Characteristics: This succulent creates a mound of four or five-angled, greenish grey uniquely shaped, 4 sided stems with conical teeth (with strong sun can flush red), and the fragrant and beautiful blooms of this plant have a raised red colored ring in the center of their yellow star shaped flower that has bold red zebra stripes, and they bloom around late spring - mid-summer.

Facts: the name comes from the raised brightly colored ring in the center of the star shaped flower that resembles a lifesaver candy.

Variegated Huernia Zebrina or Lifesaver plant a.k.a. Variegated stinky cactus (but its not a cactus 😜)

Huernia zebrina, the little owl, is a species of flowering plant in the family Apocynaceae, native to Namibia, Botswana, northern South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique. A succulent, it has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

The look of the red annulus gives the plant its common name, the life saver plant. The flowers emit a strong odor similar to that of carrion or rotting meat to attract fly pollinators.

Finally re-potted my Mayanas in the butterfly stackable pots. Mukhang bibili pa uli ako ng pots 🤔 😉🤪 I put the dark foliage at the bottom kasi napansin ko yun ang gusto kainin ng mga ibon. I have one purple na crumpled leaves na inubos talaga ng ibon but the stem and roots ay ok pa so I planted them here also.
